Meghan Markle managed to squeeze in an appearance on one of Australia’s most popular cooking shows during her recent trip Down Under.
The Duchess of Sussex is currently in Australia with husband Prince Harry on a four-day tour.
Markle Makes Mark On Masterchef
Markle is set to guest judge on hit reality show MasterChef Australia, according to Channel 10 News.
“We’ve had MasterChef royalty in the kitchen before, but nothing like this,” says judge Poh Ling Yeow in a clip from the upcoming episode.
“All the way from sunny California, please welcome toย ‘MasterChef Australia’… the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle!”
Markle embraces judges Jean-Christophe Novelli, Yeow and Sofia Levin before appluading the contestants.
In a nod to Australian fashion, she is dressed in a Camilla and Marc skirt and Matteau blouse, per PEOPLE.
Channel 10 News first reported the story, dubbing Markle a “lifestyle influencer, actress, wife to Prince Harry and mother of two.”
Calling the guest judging role a “world first,” reporter Angela Bishop revealed Markle had filmed her “top secret appearance” in Melbourne on April 15, 2026.
Season 18 of MasterChef Australia airs Sunday, April 19. Other guest judges for the season include celebrity chef Curtis Stone and “Dancing With the Stars” winner Robert Irwin.
“With Robert, thereโs a big reference to Australia within the challenge because he is Mr Australia,” Levin told TV WEEK. “A lot of people donโt realise what they do with the accommodation and restaurant they have at Australia Zoo, and his connection to food. With these guests, they bring their stories with them too.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s Love Affair With Food
GettyMarkle has previously shown of her cooking skills in her Netflix series “With Love, Meghan.”
However, she insists the series was not a typical “stand and stir” cooking show.
“Iโd make a recipe and say, โEveryone try this,โ and there are certain dishes where you just watch everyone flock in. Iโd say, โWeโve run out of spoons!โ It ended up feeling so communal, and thatโs the spirit of the show,” she told PEOPLE.
In the interview, she also revealed what she cooks for her family.
“I love making breakfast for my family,” she shared. “My husband and [son] Archie both love fried eggs.”
“Thereโs a lot of bacon around here,” she continued. “And then sometimes you donโt have time for all that, and you just put a frozen waffle in the toaster and call it a day. And thereโs no shame in that either.”
