Hele Rolls has rolled all the way from Hawaii to the finale of “The Great Food Truck Race” Season 19. The Mākakilo-based team entered the Food Network competition hoping its Hawaiian-inspired cinnamon rolls could stand out against some of the best food trucks in the country. Now, Hele Rolls has a chance to leave “The Great Food Truck Race” 2026 with the title and the $50,000 grand prize.

Hele Rolls’ Fate
Did Hele Rolls win? The answer is … NO! Hele Rolls had the most sales during the finale sales day. That gave them five additional votes for the final Taste Challenge. However, the judges and customers picked Stuph’d as the winner, which put Hele Rolls in second place.
From Hawaii to ‘The Great Food Truck Race’
Hele Rolls came into Season 19 representing Mākakilo, Hawaii, with Jasmine Milam, Brittany “Kawai” Lopez, and Mari Wills taking their cinnamon rolls on the road. The business was less than a year into selling its food when it was discovered on Instagram and recruited for “The Great Food Truck Race.”
Hele Rolls got their start by making doughnuts, but then shifted their attention to cinnamon rolls. That change paid off, with the business developing a menu of warm cinnamon rolls that incorporates flavors and inspiration from Hawaii.
For Milam, however, the business has also carried a deeper meaning.
She told Aloha State Daily that the Hele Rolls name was inspired in part by her late father’s food truck, Hele Nui. Instead of just putting her own name on the cinnamon roll business, she wanted to create something that could honor his legacy while also allowing her to build her own path.
It all started as a side hustle, but grew into something much bigger. Now, she finds herself competing on a reality TV show on national television.
Hele Rolls Makes Its Mark on Season 19
“The Great Food Truck Race” 2026 began with eight teams. A twist this season was the savory versus sweet aspect. There were four sweet trucks and four savory trucks.
The season kicked off in Nashville before taking the teams through Tennessee and eventually into Kentucky. Along the journey, the teams had to prove they could do more than cook.
Every week tested their ability to not only market their business and attract customers, but also handle unexpected challenges and, most importantly, make sales.
This season, we also saw a new twist with eliminations. Instead of automatically eliminating the team with the lowest sales every week, the two trucks with the lowest sales would fight it out in a Taste Redemption Challenge. One team would stay, and one team would have to turn over their keys to Tyler Florence.
Hele Rolls has survived the twists and turns of the race while also bringing a taste of Hawaii thousands of miles from home. Now, we’ll see if those cinnamon rolls brought them all the way to the Season 19 title.
