Mystery Challenge on ‘The Great Food Truck Race’
The final three teams meet Tyler in Newport News, Virginia. For this challenge, it’s a mystery. They won’t know what the challenge is, what they’re competing for, or what the penalty will be for the losing team!
This will be a surveillance challenge, so each of the trucks will have a camera installed inside their truck. Tyler will be watching the teams. The teams that work the best and have a good flow will get $300. The team that has the worst flow will be shut down by Tyler for one hour on “The Great Food Truck Race” season 18.
Tyler watches the three trucks for about an hour and sees Nishaan and Good Fortune Company with pluses and minuses, but overall good. Cooking With Que had a lot of issues and missing tickets, had a lot of miscommunications, and inefficiency.
Challenge Results
Tyler calls up the teams and tells them the challenge has been going on for about an hour already. He stuns them by revealing that Good Fortune Company has been the most well-oiled team and is earning $300 for their till.
Nishaan is in the middle, so they are safe. Cooking With Que is on the bottom, having dealt with a lot of issues so far today. Because of that, he says he is shutting them down!
He heads to the Cooking With Que truck and says they are lost in the sauce. Tyler lets them finish putting out the orders they had, but then they have to clean up the shop. He wants them to start over, focus, and start refreshed. He makes them shut down for an hour, head to the grocery store, and get it together again and back on track.
Stealing From the Competition
Since Cooking With Que is shut down, Nishaan and Good Fortune Company try to steal away their customers. Good Fortune Company added vegan options to its menu.
Now Cooking With Que is back and getting things prepped and ready. Tyler helps them with some tips to run things more smoothly. The ladies are happy and wish they had added these things weeks ago.
Nishaan now runs out of ingredients and has to run out and get more meat. They made a quick trip, but had to close down for a little while. They got to sell for a little while longer, but Tyler texts and it’s time to shut down for day 1.
Day 2 of Selling on ‘The Great Food Truck Race’
The teams head out to sell for day 2. They will be picking their own spots today, which Cooking With Que picked the same place Nishaan was headed.
Good Fortune Company is open and ready, but it’s a slow, rainy start. Cooking With Que is using Tyler’s tips, and they are moving faster on their tickets.
Nishaan has a customer come up that is allergic to dairy. She asked if they could make their chopped cheese without the cheese. Despite it taking them 20-25 minutes to clean up and make sure it’s dairy-free. They do it to make the customer happy, and the customer gets emotional from the special treatment.
Oyster Challenge
Back with another challenge in Newport News. Chef Aarti Sequeira joins Tyler. The challenge tests the teams as they create a dish using Chesapeake oysters. They will have to put their signature twist on the dish. The team with the best-tasting oyster dish will get $300 for their till.
Good Fortune Company is struggling with shucking the oysters. Nishaan is feeling confident about creating an oyster dish for “The Great Food Truck Race” 2025. Ari is also loving the idea of an oyster dish for Cooking With Que.
Chef Aarti and Tyler taste all of the oyster challenge. They said all of the trucks did an amazing job. However, the winner of this challenge and the $300 is Cooking With Que. They are excited, as Tyler tells them the day is done and time for elimination.
Tonight’s Results
The sales are done in Newport News, and time for the results on “The Great Food Truck Race” 2025. For a complete rundown of the teams and their sales for tonight:
- Good Fortune Company – $12,290
- Nishaan – $11,080
- Cooking with Que – $10,822
All of the teams had more sales for the two days of selling in any season of the show. Good Fortune Company now holds the record.
Despite the $300 win from the oyster challenge, Cooking With Que still finished on the bottom and was eliminated tonight on “The Great Food Truck Race” season 18. That means Good Fortune Company and Nishaan are the final two teams. They will be heading to Norfolk, Virginia, to feed the soldiers.
