Candace Cameron Bure is preparing to bring even more holiday cheer to screens — and she says her signature Christmas movies are entering a new chapter!
The actress announced on Friday, March 13 that her next seasonal film for Great American Family will be titled “One More Christmas,” adding another project to her growing lineup of festive films.
Known for starring in numerous holiday movies over the years, Bure said the genre itself is beginning to shift — and she’s excited to explore deeper storytelling with her latest project.
“Christmas movies are evolving for me. They’re not just about a big-city girl meeting a small-town boyfriend anymore,” she explained to Us Weekly. “With my production company CandyRock Entertainment, we’re passionate about creating stories that carry meaning, purpose, and hope — stories that remind people it’s never too late for redemption, healing, and love.”
Production on “One More Christmas” is already underway and the movie is expected to premiere as part of the network’s 2026 Great American Christmas programming event.
In addition to starring in the film, Bure will also serve as an executive producer. The movie will co-star Jonathan Scarfe.
What We Know About Bure’s New Film
The story centers on former spouses Anna and James Campbell, who have been divorced for five years but maintain a peaceful arrangement for the sake of their children.
Their fragile truce is put to the test during the holidays when their daughter invites the entire family to meet her serious boyfriend at a rustic Smoky Mountain cabin owned by her grandparents.
Trying to avoid an awkward reunion, both Anna and James arrive early — only to discover they had the exact same idea.
Things take an even more dramatic turn when a major winter storm hits the area.
Trapped in the mountains by the worst ice storm in a decade, the former couple is forced to confront unresolved feelings and revisit the history that once brought them together.
The emotional holiday setting creates the possibility that their love story might not be over after all.
Bure Has Numerous Holiday Projects in the Works
The new movie is just one of several holiday projects Bure has lined up. In addition to starring in “One More Christmas,” the actress will headline another festive film for the network’s 2026 holiday slate and executive produce a third Christmas project.
Bill Abbott praised Bure’s creative vision and her connection with the network’s audience.
“Candace Cameron Bure has an extraordinary instinct for stories that uplift, inspire and reflect the enduring values of faith,” Abbott said according to the outlet. “She not only understands our audience, but she also champions them.”
Since joining Great American Family in 2022, Bure has become one of the network’s most recognizable holiday stars.
“One More Christmas” will mark her seventh Christmas film for the channel.
