‘An Ozark Mountain Christmas’ Turns Branson Theme Park Into a GAF Holiday Movie Set

Great American Media is already getting fans amped for Christmas 2026.

The company recently reached a deal with the city of Branson, Missouri, and its local theme park, Silver Dollar City, to produce a new Christmas movie, “An Ozark Mountain Christmas,” which will serve as part of the network’s “Great American Christmas 2026” programming lineup.

‘An Ozark Mountain Christmas’ Begins Filming at Silver Dollar City

The announcement was shared on Great American Family’s Instagram page on Dec. 22, where the network confirmed the project and revealed its lead stars.

“We are excited to announce our partnership with the City of Branson, Missouri, and Silver Dollar City to produce an original Christmas film, AN OZARK MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS, starring Brianna Cohen and Jonathan Stoddard as part of Great American Christmas 2026!🎄✨” the post read.

Cameras are now rolling in Branson as production begins, with filming taking place on location at Silver Dollar City and throughout the surrounding Ozarks area. The production is expected to anchor Great American Media’s “Great American Christmas 2026” lineup, turning the popular tourist destination into a full-scale Christmas movie set.

The New GAF Is Filming at Silver Dollar City and Across Branson

The film stars Brianna Cohen and Jonathan Stoddard and will use Silver Dollar City as its primary filming location. The 1880s-themed park is known nationally for its Christmas season, featuring more than 6.5 million holiday lights, themed decorations, seasonal attractions, and live entertainment.

Filming is expected to capture the park’s signature holiday visuals, including decorated streets, towering Christmas trees, live carolers, horse-drawn carriage moments, and artisan demonstrations. Great American Media said the production will highlight the destination’s seasonal atmosphere, which draws visitors to the Ozarks each winter.

Beyond the park, the movie is also being shot throughout Branson. City officials partnered with the production to extend Branson’s holiday lighting and décor across the filming schedule so the movie reflects the holiday experience visitors see during peak season. Downtown streets, storefronts, and the skyline are expected to appear throughout the film.

“Branson and Silver Dollar City create one of the most breathtaking Christmas destinations in America,” Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Great American Media, said in a statement. “The film allows us to invite audiences inside a real-life Christmas dream — one filled with light, tradition, music and the warmth of small-town celebration.”

In addition to scenic settings, the film will feature many of Silver Dollar City’s seasonal experiences, including nighttime rides, holiday food offerings, artisan workshops, shopping, and live Christmas shows.

“An Ozark Mountain Christmas” is scheduled to premiere during “Great American Christmas 2026” on Great American Family.
