Jonathan Bennett is proving that romance can thrive even at 30,000 feet.
The Hallmark star had fans swooning after sharing a video featuring his husband, Jaymes Vaughan, and a sneaky first-class move that turned into an unexpectedly kind gesture. In the video shared on social media, Bennett revealed that his seat on their flight got upgraded before boarding, but when he boarded the plane first, he took his husband’s spot instead, so there was only one option left for Vaughan: the spacious first-class seat. Fans were also cracking up at the hilarious reason behind Bennett’s switcheroo.
Bennett Surprises Husband With First-Class Seat Upgrade
“FAA says all that beef deserves first class,” wrote Bennett in the caption of his May 24 Instagram reel. “I don’t make the rules.”
In the reel, there’s a clip of Vaughan shooting Bennett a questioning look. The caption that Bennett added to the reel reads, “He’s mad because I got upgraded to first and then I boarded before him and sat in his peasant seat so he had no choice but to take my first class seat.”
He continued, “But I stand by my decision because he’s got all that muscle and needs a bigger seat.”
In parenthesis, Bennett concluded, “I’m doing this for me so he can eat a meal and keep that protein up. He thinks it’s for him, but really it’s for me.”

Bennett & Vaughan Have Been Married for Over 4 Years
Bennett and Vaughan got married on March 19, 2022. The Finding Mr. Christmas host, who got engaged to Vaughan in November 2020, tied the knot in a destination wedding in Mexico.
“When you’re part of the LGBTQ+ fam, not everything in the wedding space is for you yet,” Vaughan told PEOPLE at the time. “The whole purpose of our wedding is to come together and join the two of us together, join our families together and start a new family.”
“And all that, as we were going through this process, we realized that our wedding is also more than just about us,” Bennett said. “It’s about the entire community.”
The couple never fail to make fans laugh with the relatable videos they post online about their relationship.
