In a new social media post, Tarek opened up about some home improvement tips that many owners don’t necessarily consider. But at the end of the day, Tarek insists even the most minor fixes can help improve a home’s value.

Heather & Tarek El Moussa Give Helpful Hints About Selling a Home
The El Moussas have been in the real estate business for decades. Even before meeting and marrying, both Tarek and Heather had quite successful careers. Now, they’re combining their experience and knowledge to help fans make smarter decisions. Some little renovations make a world of difference, even if they seem “weird” or insignificant.
“5 weird things you should fix before you sell the house,” Tarek shared in an informational Instagram post. The El Moussas made a checklist of each to-do item, starting with the closet.
“Pull 50- 70% of clothes and junk out, use matching hangers, and organize shelves so every closet looks bigger and more luxurious,” the HGTV star advised.
He went on to discuss the importance of matching light bulbs and ensuring no space in the home feels dark. Other helpful tips included power washing the home’s exterior, refreshing the grout and caulk, and eliminating all odors through a deep cleaning.
“Deep clean carpets and textiles, change HVAC filters, dust vents, and kill any pet or cooking odor so buyers never start the tour with a negative,” Tarek shared.
Fans are eager to see how the real estate expert puts these tips into practice when “The Flip Off” returns to HGTV.
The HGTV Stars Prepare For ‘The Flip Off’ Season 2
While the El Moussas are giving expert real estate advice to fans, they’re also hard at work behind the scenes. After a successful freshman season, “The Flip Off” will get a second season sometime this year.
Heather and Tarek have been hard at work filming with Christina Haack. Now and then, the stars give a sneak peek of what fans can expect. Although the adults get along extraordinarily well, they’re still very competitive.
“2 steps ahead Tina, we’re always 2 steps ahead. Or are we? 🤷🏻♂️😏🤣 #TheFlipOff” Tarek shared on Instagram, attaching a video of himself and Heather hunched over the computer. He added a text over the video: “POV: us trying to find Christina’s flip house for TFO season 2.”
“You’ll never find me!!!! 😂🤣🤪” Christina joked back in the comments.
“If you really found it, you would be looking more worried,” Christina’s boyfriend, Christopher Larocca, quipped.
The post seems to indicate that season 2 will follow a similar format with Christina Haack battling it out against the El Moussas. However, Christina and Heather’s close friendship has plenty of viewers rooting for a season where the women team up against Tarek.
Fans can expect to see the El Moussas back in action when “The Flip Off” season 2 heads to HGTV later this year.
