HGTV favorites Jenny and Dave Marrs are gearing up to kick off the new season of their hit show, “Fixer to Fabulous.” Before season 7 premieres, the couple is giving fans a glimpse into what’s to come.
Jenny and Dave Marrs Talk ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Season 7
Jenny and Dave opened up about the upcoming season, explaining that their town banded together after devastating tornadoes.
“If you could give me one word to encapsulate the season, what would it be?” the couple was asked during a sit-down interview with Extra TV, which was published on Wednesday, November 26.
“Emotional,” Dave and Jenny agreed.
After Dave showed shock at Jenny’s agreement, she added, “I was going to [change it], but I couldn’t think. I was going to say hard, but emotional is better.”
Jenny went on to reveal that their youngest son’s teacher tragically lost her house during a recent tornado.
“So the school, the our kids’ basketball teams, like everyone just kind of rallied and went over there and we were helping them just sort of clean up and sort through things,” she recalled. “And at the time they were just in total shock”
She continued, “It took a year for them to get insurance money, and once they did, they were like, ‘Can you please help us? We just don’t even know where to start.'”
“It was just so special to be a part of,” Jenny said.
Dave revealed that they were able to install an “in-ground tornado shelter” for the teacher and her family. “
“They actually they went to a neighbor’s house, barely made it there before literally the roof fell in on their house,” he said.
Jenny and Dave Marrs Have Been Dealing With Loss
In the last year, the Arkansas couple has lost Dave’s mother, Donna, Jenny’s grandmother, their family dog, Dolly, and their neighbors Bob and Jill.
Jenny recently shared an emotional update on how they are celebrating the holiday season, while keeping their loved ones in their hearts.
“I’ve always been strictly in the no-decorating-before-Thanksgiving camp but our family collectively decided that, this year, we need holiday cheer and twinkling lights and stockings and the Hope of Christmas sooner,” she shared via Instagram on Sunday, November 23. “So, we hauled down the totes and hung the garland and the lights and, as we carefully lifted the sentimental ornaments from their wrapping and reminisced, the tears fell.”
She continued, “We decked the halls today. And the twinkling lights may not make our tender, weary hearts feel whole, but they certainly don’t hurt. Our home feels like it’s smiling and that’s surely the start of something good.”
Season 7 of “Fixer to Fabulous” premieres on HGTV on December 2.
