1, 2, 3, 4, what are we excited for? Season 3 of Netflix’s hit cheerleading docuseries, “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” is premiering on the streamer June 16!

‘America’s Sweethearts’ Third Season Trailer Highlights the Ups and Downs of Being an NFL Cheerleader
The official trailer for the newest season, released on June 2, features a new crop of Dallas Cowboys cheerleader hopefuls as they compete against fellow global applicants amid the show’s steady popularity. From the audition rounds to training camp, audiences will get an inside view as the competitors kick and jump their way into one of six prestigious spots on the squad just in time for the NFL season.
The video begins with images of the cheerleaders putting on their uniforms in preparation for what lies ahead. “Once you become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, there’s already a lot of weight that is on your shoulders,” says one unknown narrator. During the montage, another voice says, “Some people like that, and some people don’t. I guess the question is, can you handle it?”
The Netflix trailer continues with scenes of the women getting into formation up on the football field, interspersed with confessional behind-the-scenes moments. An Australian contestant states, “They’re never gonna want an Aussie gal representing America’s Sweetheart. It’s hard, but you know? Go the Cowboys!” Another contestant wistfully adds, “This has been my dream forever, and I’m so close.”
Fans Will Root for Both Veteran and Rookie Talent
This season will showcase a mix of familiar faces, including 30 cheerleading veterans, and country music superstar Kacey Musgraves, as well as rookie talent set to audition. According to Netflix’s Tudum website, Senior Director Kelli Finglass and Head Choreographer Judy Trammell are returning to mentor the 2025-2026 class. As for the remaining stars of the series, Netflix promises fans will have to just wait and see who they are. Still, from the looks of the new trailer, Season 3 is shaping up to be one of the series’ most intriguing ones yet, and fans are already cheering on their favorites, along with the show itself, on social media.
“I’ll never have enough seasons of this show,” wrote one viewer in the YouTube comments section for the trailer. Another scribed, “I’m so excited to see this season.”
The Journey of ‘America’s Sweethearts’
“America’s Sweethearts” first landed on Netflix in 2024 and has dominated mainstream conversation about the NFL cheerleading industry. The second season debuted in 2025 to even greater acclaim, with an Instagram announcement confirming the third season that same year. Many of the show’s talented performers, such as Kelcey Wetterberg, Anna Kate Sundvold, Armani Latimer, Reece Weaver, Charly Barby, and Victoria Kalina, went on to gain subsequent fame and massive followings.
Show creator Greg Whiteley says that while access to the Dallas Cowboys brand “is not easy to come by,” making “America’s Sweethearts” is more than worthwhile. He declares that, “The result is an authentic portrait of one of the most storied and beloved institutions we have in American pop culture.”
