‘Supernatural’ & ‘iZombie’ Star Passes Away at 51 After Battle With Cancer: Co-Star Pens Emotional Tribute

Carrie Anne Fleming, a familiar face to television audiences for roles in horror shows including “Supernatural” and “iZombie,” has passed away at age 51. Variety confirmed the news of her passing on March 22.

The Canadian actress passed away last month in Sidney, British Columbia, following complications related to breast cancer. Her death was confirmed by her “Supernatural” co-star Jim Beaver, who shared the news with Variety.

In a statement shared with People, Fleming’s representative said: “She died peacefully with her loved ones by her side.”

“It was a great privilege to have known Carrie. She was a beautiful soul, inspiring, and above all, kind. She will be greatly missed.”

Jim Beaver Confirms Death of His Onscreen Wife

Fleming appeared alongside Beaver in “Supernatural,” where she played Karen Singer, the wife of his character Bobby Singer.

Beaver confirmed her passing, marking the loss of an actress who had been part of the long-running series’ extended universe.

Her role, though brief, left a lasting impression on fans of the show.

Beaver took to Facebook to reflect on the rare kind of connection he shared with Fleming, describing it as something he had experienced only once before.

Beaver shared a deeply personal tribute, reflecting on love, loss, and the rare connection he found twice in his life. He wrote: “To find a soul mate once in life is something of a miracle. To find one twice is almost unimaginable… how many of us can say that spark of divinity has alighted on us once, much less twice? I can.”

He continued: “To find a soul mate once in life and lose her is unmitigated pain. To find one twice and lose them both is something that words cannot shape.”

Looking back on meeting Fleming on “Supernatural,” he described an instant, almost fated connection. “Carrie Anne Fleming was cast as my wife on Supernatural… I fell for her hard, and I did it mere seconds after meeting her.”

Despite the distance between them, he said their bond never faded. “We just loved each other as best we could.”

Beaver ended his tribute with a heartbreaking reflection: “I never thought my heart could break so badly more than once. But it has. But, oh, the two torches I carry — what bright, bright light they shed.”

Early Passion for Performing Led to Diverse Career

Variety reported that Fleming’s passion for performing began early. She studied drama at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and the Kidco Theatre Dance Company, building a foundation that would shape her career.

After completing her training, she turned to modeling to support her family before transitioning into acting.

She went on to land early roles in projects such as “Viper,” which debuted in 1994, and the film “Happy Gilmore” in 1996.

The Star Gained Popularity For ‘iZombie’ & Theatre Work

In her later years, Fleming became a familiar face to audiences for her role as Candy Baker in “iZombie,” appearing on the series across five seasons.

Away from the screen, she remained closely connected to the stage, taking part in several productions across British Columbia, including “Romeo and Juliet,” “Noises Off,” “Fame,” and “Steel Magnolias.”

Details for a memorial service are expected to be shared at a later time.

As per a report in the Mirror, she is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose, whom she shared with her former husband, Ronald James McConaghy.
