Charlie Sheen Wants to Mend Fences With ‘Two and a Half Men’ Co-star Jon Cryer: ‘Jon’s a Lovely Man’

In the 1980s and 90s, Charlie Sheen was one of the biggest names in Hollywood. He went on to find sitcom success in “Two and a Half Men” opposite Jon Cryer in 2003.

While the show was a smashing success, Charlie Sheen’s personal struggles threatened to derail the entire series. In 2011, Warner Bros. Television and CBS terminated his contract, killed off his character, and brought in Ashton Kutcher as a replacement.

In a new interview, Sheen expressed regret over the broken relationships. He had nothing but kind things to say about his onscreen brother, Jon Cryer, and hoped they could rebuild the friendship they once had.

In 2025, Charlie Sheen produced two autobiographic works. His memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” and documentary, “aka Charlie Sheen,” both came out in September 2025. Those who knew Sheen throughout his life participated in the Netflix documentary, including “Two and a Half Men” star Jon Cryer.

The men portrayed brothers on the show from 2003 until Sheen’s 2011 exit. The show ran for a few more seasons until 2015. As expected, some difficult feelings complicated the relationship as Sheen’s personal issues and struggles with addiction mounted.

But after all this time, Charlie Sheen would love to reach out and mend fences. He’s proudly sober today and knows he has many relationships to repair.

“Every time this comes up, I say I’m going to [reach out to him] and I never do,” the 60-year-old told PEOPLE this week. “I don’t like to bother people. But I think Jon would be open to that. Jon’s a lovely man and a very talented guy.”

Sheen went on to discuss how grateful he felt that so many of his previous associates agreed to film the documentary after his behavior.

Many in Hollywood struggle with addiction issues. While Charlie Sheen isn’t proud of his past, he’s pleased that he put everything in a book and onscreen for the public to see. He simply told PEOPLE that he felt “relieved.”

“It’s documented, and I think told beautifully, visually and, hopefully, decently,” the “Major League” star shared. “And there’s stuff in the book that’s not in the doc and vice versa, because there are things I couldn’t capture with the written word that [director Andrew Renzi] did visually, because some things you just have to see to feel it. And there were some stories I couldn’t tell well enough on camera that I knew I could tell through my pen.”

Charlie Sheen proudly added that he’s been sober for eight years. He acknowledged that he wouldn’t have written the book or had the documentary filmed if he were still battling substances.

“I think it always sort of had a happy ending attached to it, regardless of where the story went,” he concluded the interview.

“Aka Charlie Sheen” is now available to stream on Netflix.
