O’Brien previously took over hosting duties after Jimmy Kimmel completed a two-year run as host. Kimmel has hosted the Oscars four times in total.

The Academy also confirmed that Matt Berry will serve as the announcer during the ceremony. Berry is known for his work on television series including “The IT Crowd,” “What We Do in the Shadows,” and “Toast of London.”
