A bride from the British version of “Married at First Sight” has revealed a secret relationship with a groom from the Australian version of the show.
Polly Sellman appeared on 2024’s ninth series of “Married at First Sight UK,” marrying barber Adam Nightingale, before being sent on a ski trip to Trentino, Italy, for a honeymoon that was ice cold in more ways than one.
Nightingale made it clear from the beginning that he wasn’t attracted to Sellman, and the couple ultimately parted ways, despite somehow making it to the final vow ceremony.
However, ahead of the imminent new series of the UK show, Sellman has now revealed she’s close friends with with a groom from the Australian version of “Married at First Sight,” in the ultimate international crossover for the franchise.
Sellman Has Been Out With MAFS Australia Star ‘A Few Times’
In an interview with British newspaper The Sun, Sellman, who now lives in Australia, revealed she knows several participants from “Married at First Sight Australia,” and has even met up with one of them on numerous occasions.
Sellman told the publication, “So there was a couple of people that were on last series [of MAFS Australia] that I actually knew, and as well as the old cast. But yeah, a couple of the ones… so I speak to Beth, I’ve spoke to Jamie. I speak to Beth the most.”
She then revealed that the MAFS Australia groom that she’s met up with is fellow Brit Bill Belcher. Sellman said, “Billy, obviously. Billy’s a UK boy. Absolutely love Billy. We’ve been out a few times together, when he’s been in Sydney, and I’ve been to Perth. I’ve met up with him when I was in Perth.”
Belcher, a 32-year-old plasterer, was matched with Sierah Swepstone on 2025’s season 12 of “Married at First Sight Australia.” Their ill-fated marriage came to an end during episode 17’s commitment ceremony, after it was revealed that Sierah had a growing connection with another groom on the show, Adrian Araouzou.
Another MAFS Australia star Sellman keeps in touch with is Dave Hand, with Sellman revealing, “Dave’s lovely. I speak to Dave every now and then. We just check in on each other.”
Sellman also spoke to the publication about how her life is going since she switched continents.
Sellman Finds Australia Has a ‘Better Work-Life Balance’ Than The UK
Sellman left to set up a new life in Australia soon after her episodes of “Married at First Sight” aired in the UK — and she insists she couldn’t be happier living Down Under.
The careers advisor, 29, says of her new home, “It’s just a better work-life balance as well. I think a lot of people work to live at home. Everyone waits for the weekend, no one wants to do anything after 6 o’clock in the evening during the week. Everyone’s got to find a babysitter.”
She added, “Over here, you go to work to live your life. People take long weekends, people take their sick days, people go away on a Friday night after work to go 6 hours away in a car, to just go somewhere different over the weekend.”
A quick look at Sellman’s Instagram profile shows she’s now living her best life. She regularly posts photos looking happy, glamorous, and in the best shape she’s ever been in — something she’s clearly proud of achieving. We wish her all the best for her future in Australia.
Series 10 of “Married at First Sight UK” returns for its tenth series on E4 on Sunday, September 21 at 9 p.m. GMT. Viewers around the world can also watch it if they have access to the Channel 4 video on demand service.
