‘Young & the Restless’ Star Shares Update on His Much-Anticipated ‘Days of Our Lives’ Debut

The Young and the Restless” alum Conner Floyd has given an exciting update on his highly anticipated debut on “Days of Our Lives”. Floyd’s best known for playing Chance Chancellor on the hit CBS soap. In a few weeks, though, soap fans will see him in a whole new light as he takes over the role of Chad DiMera, previously played by his former co-star Billy Flynn.

Conner Floyd Has News About ‘Days of Our Lives’ Debut

In a video posted to the official Instagram page for the hit Peacock soap, Floyd introduced himself to fans who may not know him from his other soap gig. Then he revealed when he will premiere as Chad.

“I’m very, very happy to announce that starting in April, I will be airing as the one and only Chad DeMira. And man, I’ve been waiting to say that for a long time. I’m very thankful to be a part of the Days family. Thank you for this opportunity,” the actor expressed.

Floyd also gave fans a little tease to tide them over until his debut and showed his gratitude for being part of the “Days of Our Lives” family.

“I’m very excited for you guys to see what the storylines we’ve been working on. Man, we’ve got some cool stuff coming. Get your popcorn ready. Very honored to be part of the Demira legacy as well. I understand there’s a way to that. I’m ready to carry the name, and I know I’ve got big shoes to fill. I’m up for the challenge. I’ve been bringing it. I will continue to bring it for you guys. Thank you for all the love and support that I’ve gotten so far. You guys have been very welcoming and kind, and I truly appreciate that,” he stated.

While Floyd didn’t give an exact date for his April premiere, online sources say it will be on April 21. The announcement comes a little over two weeks after Flynn gave a powerhouse performance in his final episode as Chad.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Chad Switch Has Been Months in The Making

Since the Peacock soap films nearly 10 months in advance, it’s no secret that Floyd’s taking over the role of Chad. Flynn filmed his last episode in March 2025 and began filming “The Young and the Restless” as Cane the same month.

A few weeks later, it was confirmed that Floyd was tapped to play Chad, ending his run as Chance on the CBS soap. In June, Chance was killed off “The Young and the Restless” and Floyd had his first day on “Days of Our Lives.”

Floyd was on hand for the 60th Anniversary of “Days of Our Lives” last November. On the red carpet, he gave a shoutout to his new co-stars for being “super welcoming” and gave them mad props for how they handle the daily grind of the soap. It’s been a while ride for Floyd and he’s ready for soap fans to see him in action.
