Nearly 10 months after news broke that Conner Floyd took over the role of Chad on “Days of Our Lives’ fans get to see him in action on screen. The hit Peacock show has given a first look at Floyd as Chad, and fans are freaking out.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Teases Conner Floyd as New Chad
The weekly promo for “Days of Our Lives” gave fans the first look at Floyd in his new role. In the teaser, Chad and his children, Thomas (Alexander Elijah Bond) and Charlotte (Autumn Gendron), are back in Salem.
Chad took the kids to visit Sonny (Zach Tinker) and Will (Chandler Massey) in Arizona to write out Billy Flynn and keep Chad off-screen for a while before Floyd debuted. The video footage first look at Floyd as Chad has the character immediately running into Cat (AnnaLynne McCord).
In true soap fashion, Chad is having a great time with his kids in Horton Town Square when Cat shows up, making things tense. The look between Chad and Cat hints that the time apart didn’t change their feelings for each other.
It’s a brief glimpse of the new Chad, but it was enough to get fans talking. Several were freaking out over the “new Chad” finally appearing in Salem.
Other fans joked about Floyd and Flynn swapping soaps. Flynn left “Days of Our Lives” in March 2025 to join “The Young and the Restless” as Cane, where Floyd was playing Chance until the character was killed so that he could join the hit Peacock soap as the new Chad. It was soap swapping at its best.
One fan expressed, “As much as I LOVE and miss Billy Flynn… NewChad and Kat – OMG. They would be so well-matched. I couldn’t see it with Billy. With NewChad – I might be pining for it.”
Another fan declared, “NuChad is mcdreamy!!! @connergfloyd @dayspeacock”, while a different fan stated, “Welcome back New Chad.”
Conner Floyd Talks New Chad on ‘Days of Our Lives’
Speaking with Soaps.com ahead of his debut as Chad, Floyd revealed what “Days of Our Lives” fans can expect from the character now that he’s back in Salem.
“I would say Chad’s at a bit of a crossroads. You know he’s dealing with his family legacy. He’s trying to forge his own path, but the DiMera path just kinda seems to always get in the way. So yeah, you can find him at a crossroads trying to balance out his personal life and the DiMera life that is always knocking at the door,” the soap star expressed to the outlet.
Floyd’s debut isn’t the only big thing that’s happened to the actor. In March, he married his longtime love, Carly Frei.
The wait to see Floyd in the role of Chad is over. Floyd makes his highly anticipated debut on Tuesday, April 21.
