Carly Waddell Addresses Rekindling With Evan Bass — ‘Should I Make My Move?’

Leave it to Carly Waddell to answer a loaded question with a punchline.

The “Bachelor in Paradise” alum took to her Instagram Stories this week for a candid Q&A about dating and relationships. When one fan asked if there was any chance of rekindling things with her ex-husband Evan Bass, Waddell did not dodge it. She laughed and said “I don’t know, I’m about to see him at a singing event for Bella at her school, so should I make my move? Just kidding!”

It was exactly the kind of answer fans have come to expect from Carly: funny, candid and just self-aware enough to keep people guessing.

Where Carly Waddell Stands After Split From Todd Allen Tressler

The Q&A covered more ground than just Bass. Waddell shared that she is not back in the dating world right now and is focused on herself and her kids. As for ex-fiance Todd Allen Tressler, she said she does not know what he is up to and does not care.

The answer also comes after a lot changed in Carly’s love life over the past year. In a very Carly move, Waddell was actually the one who proposed to Tressler first on Halloween, before he turned around and proposed to her during a family trip to Costa Rica in October 2024. She called him her dream man and announced their engagement with “Here’s to a new chapter with my dream man.” Less than a year later the engagement was over.

Waddell broke the news publicly in October 2025, telling fans in a candid Instagram video that she had ended things about a month earlier. “It’s not a decision that I personally made overnight,” she said. “It was really bad timing because the kids had just started school and sports and all the things. You know what? It is what it is.” She added that she felt “very at peace with this decision” and said “honestly, dating after divorce and dating with kids is super difficult. You have to make tough decisions for yourself and for your family,” People confirmed.

NASHVILLE, TN – MAY 02: (L-R) Bachelor couple Carly Waddell and Evan Bass take photos for Unlikely Heroes hosts, Night of Freedom, A Tribute to the Legend George Michael at City Winery Nashville on May 2, 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Bachelor Nation has been following this one for years. Waddell and Bass met on Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and got engaged at the end of the season. They married in 2017 and went on to welcome daughter Bella in 2018 and son Charlie in 2019. By December 2020 the two had separated and eventually divorced.

The co-parenting relationship since then has been warm by all accounts. Both have spoken openly about keeping things focused on Bella and Charlie. Nothing romantic between them. Just two parents making it work and apparently showing up to the same school singing events.

For now, Carly sounds happy keeping things exactly where they are: light, funny and firmly in the co-parenting lane.
