Colton Underwood’s son, Bishop — who he shares with husband Jordan C. Brown — has turned one, and the former Bachelor marked the occasion with a social media post celebrating the little guy.
“Dear Bishop,” Underwood began in the Instagram post shared on Friday, September 26. “Happy first birthday, my sweet boy. You’ve completely changed my life this past year. In just twelve months, you’ve taught me more than I could have ever imagined…about patience, about slowing down, and most of all, about love. A kind of love that’s deeper, softer, and more powerful than I knew existed until you.”
“Being your dad will be the greatest honor of my life,” Underwood added, along with a collection of photos and a video of the sweet family. He ended his message with: “I love you, Pop.”
Underwood Says This Has Been ‘the Best Year’ of His Life
Underwood has fully embraced life as a father. In fact, he’s pretty darn happy with how his life has gone over the past year.
“It’s been the best year of my life,” Underwood told People in December 2024. “I’m still very much coming into everything.”
“I have the best husband, the best family,” he continued. “I can’t even put into words what it means. I’ve always wanted to be a dad and to have little Bishop — our family is the best.”
After coming out in 2021 and then getting married and becoming a father, he explained, “I feel like a new person. You just shed different layers of yourselves at different times.”
“I would have never envisioned this version of myself,” he said. “I never thought that I could be who I am today out loud and, you know, have a husband and a son. Never thought that was possible.”
Underwood Has Also Celebrated His Husband as a Father to Their Son
Underwood not only loves to be a father but also seems to adore being a parent with his husband, Jordan. He made that clear by celebrating his partner on a special occasion with a heartfelt Instagram post.
“Happy Father’s Day to the love of my life and the most incredible dad our son could ever ask for,” Underwood wrote. “Jordan, watching you step into fatherhood has been one of the greatest joys of my life.”
“You’re the calm, the kindness, the steady hand,” he continued. “You love with your whole heart, lead with intention, and somehow always know exactly what our little family needs — even before we do. You go above and beyond in every way: the late night dream feeds, the messy moments, the countless ways you show up not just for us, but with us. Bishop will grow up knowing what unconditional love looks like, because he sees it in you every single day.”
