Konrad Bien-Stephen, a former contestant from the Australian edition of “The Bachelorette,” is being remembered through his final Instagram posts following his sudden death at the age of 35.
He died in Melbourne, Australia, on March 30, according to Variety Australia. His management confirmed the news in a statement shared April 2.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Konrad Bien-Stephen. We ask that you respect the privacy of their family during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement said. “No further information will be shared at this stage. Our thoughts are with all who loved him.”
No additional details have been released.

Bien-Stephen’s last Instagram post, shared on March 26, showed him smiling while working on a renovation project. Bien-Stephen, who had around 35,000 followers and described himself in his bio as “Kinda Broke, Kinda Thriving,” regularly shared updates from his work and daily life.
“Back On The Tewls Darling! Carlton kitchen renovation loading…” he wrote.
The post has since become a place where friends, fans, and fellow reality TV personalities have shared tributes.
“Married at First Sight Australia” and “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” star Cyrell Paule wrote, “RIP.” Paule also appeared on “The Bachelor Australia,” “Bachelor in Paradise Australia,” “The Challenge Australia” and “The Amazing Race Australia.”
“Bachelor” franchise personality Brittany Hockley commented his name alongside two broken heart emojis.
Connor Curran of “MasterChef Australia” said Bien-Stephen was “too beautiful for this world.”
“Love Island Australia” star Anna McEvoy wrote, “Oh my gosh this is absolutely devastating.”
“The Amazing Race Australia” contestant Luke O’Halloran added, “Love ya mate x.”

Another Instagram post from earlier this year has also drawn attention following the news of the reality star’s sudden passing.
On January 16, Bien-Stephen shared a carousel of photos as part of a social media trend revisiting photos from 2016—10 years ago. He shared a reflective message in the caption where he reminisced on the last decade of his life and looked ahead to the next one.
“Time flies. Things change… but burgers are still elite. 2016 being 10 years ago is honestly hard to wrap my head around,” he wrote. “Going through my archives hit me more than I expected. I forget to stop and reflect sometimes… What a decade that was.
“So many moments I didn’t realise would mean so much later. Here’s to the next 10. Hope you’re all having a beautiful start to the year 🤍”
Konrad Bien-Stephen’s Reality TV Career and Background
Bien-Stephen rose to recognition as a contestant on “The Bachelorette Australia” in 2021, where he became a fan-favorite who finished in fourth place, according to Variety Australia.
He later appeared on “The Challenge Australia.”
According to Daily Mail, Bien-Stephen worked as a Melbourne-based carpenter and had begun pursuing acting, including studying at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.
Variety Australia also reported that he previously dated reality TV and media personality Abbie Chatfield from November 2021 to August 2022 and was most recently in a relationship with Australian singer-songwriter Thelma Plum.
