Taylor Frankie Paul, “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star and would-have-been “Bachelorette,” received an outpouring of love after surprising fans right after Easter with the news that she’s officially closing the chapter of her Mormon past.
The 31-year-old wrote on her Instagram Stories that she will always “have love and respect” for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having been “born and raised” in the religion, before declaring, “it’s time to detach myself from it.”
The mom of three said she’ll still attend from time to time with her family, but explained, “I strongly believe in Christ, God, the bible, the divine,. I believe we are loved whether we are praying in a church building or from a bathroom floor at home.”
Taylor went on to say she’s experienced “grace and love” from people who are unsure about religion, and assured everyone, “that’s okay too.” She said the point of her message was that “there is more out there to learn, and I’m writing this out as a release.”
The brunette beauty also seemed to indicate she may not be looking to join a new church anytime soon. When one fan suggested she should find a born again church “like Calvary chapel,” Taylor replied, “I’ve always been more spiritual than religious honestly.”

In an emotional Easter Sunday post she shared just hours before her announcement about leaving the church, Taylor wrote emotionally rejoiced over the meaning of the holiday, writing over a shot of her face, “He has risen and he is real. I got chills today when I realized it’s been 40 days exactly today in this frantic state.”
The event that triggered her feelings of panic may have been the late February altercation with Dakota Mortensen, Taylor’s former boyfriend and father of her youngest child.
Following that incident, TMZ obtained and published a video clip of a prior conflict between Taylor and Dakota that led to the cancellation of the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette” in which Taylor was set to star, and had already been filmed.
Taylor shared in the caption of her Easter post that she has “prayed for strength” through the panic attacks she has endured over the past weeks, and that she’s leaned into her faith in Jesus for comfort.
