How To Watch ‘The Golden Bachelor’
“The Golden Bachelor” premieres on Wednesday, September 24, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. The premiere will be two hours. The show can be watched on Wednesdays on ABC and is available to stream on Hulu the day after.
The full schedule has not yet been released, and it is unclear how many episodes the season will have. Based on “The Golden Bachelor” Season 1, there were nine episodes. However, “The Bachelor” franchise is known to sometimes have more than nine.
Who Is Competing for Mel Owens’ Affection?
Before the season had even begun, Owens upset some people with the comments he made about women over 60. There are 23 women competing for his love, ranging in age from 58 to 77. Owens is 66.
“They asked me, ‘What’s your preferences?’ So I just said, ‘45 to 60,’ just being honest,” he told the “In the Trenches,” podcast in June. “And then the process went and I was selected and then we had lunch with the executive producer. I said, ‘You know, if they’re 60 or over, I’m cutting them.’ Owens has since apologized for these remarks.
The Bachelor Nation YouTube channel shared a sneak peek of the women competing for his affection this season in September. Owens has a gorgeous and interesting group of women.
Fans are already excited about the contestants, and the comments are filled with positive messages. “Great promo. The ladies look amazing,” a comment reads. “These ladies are amazing,” another fan shared.
“Connected with some amazing ladies. Wishing them all much happiness!“ a comment from contestant Carla reads. She also encouraged fans to tune into the premiere.
Does Mel Owens Find Love?
“Owens is ready to rediscover a love rooted in the simple joys of companionship – sharing life’s everyday moments, making plans for the future, and growing stronger together as a couple,” his ABC bio reads. “As the Golden Bachelor, he’s eager to meet someone who shares this vision and finally find that perfect teammate he’s been waiting for in his golden years.”
But does he get engaged or find love? This is an answer we have to wait and watch the season to find out, and he has given no clues.
“You’re just going to have to watch the journey,” he told USA Today on September 24 ahead of the premiere. “There’s ups and downs, twists and turns. It’s like, whoa, I even can’t believe what just happened. This is an adventure.”
