While former Prince Andrew left the family in disgrace, it seems that, despite his fall from grace, he is still in line for a royal ceremonial funeral when he passes away. Royal fans are furious after a source revealed this fact after the former prince was stripped of his royal titles after his public fall from grace.
Andrew fell from royal grace after the Epstein Files revealed his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and young girls supplied for him. This led to his royal titles being stripped over the scandal after images of him, Epstein and Trump were revealed.
Former Prince and Relationship with Jeffrey Epstein
GettyWhile many Epstein Files are still unseen by Americans, the controversy surrounding his former relationship with the late convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein was revealed.
Andrew has had to move out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor over the scandal following his loss of a royal title and is rarely seen in public these days. Mountbatten-Windsor now resides in a farmhouse on King Charles’ private Sandringham Estate.
Radar Online quotes a royal source as saying how angry people are over news that Andrew will enjoy a right royal funeral when the former Prince dies. Looking back on funerals in the royal family, the source explained that this privilege carries enormous symbolism
“There will inevitably be people asking why Andrew should still receive such a significant national royal honor after everything that has happened. A ceremonial funeral carries enormous symbolism – and that is why the fact he is set to receive this national honor has become so controversial, and it has been met with real fury,” the insider said.
Will Andrew Enjoy A Royal Funeral?
According to senior Whitehall sources, the former Duke of York continues to be on a secret government list of royal family members who are entitled to high-profile funerals
It’s been reported senior Whitehall sources said the former prince remains on a secret government list of members of the royal family who are entitled to receive high-profile funerals. Should the rumors be true, his funeral could involve a service at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
That chapel saw the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed at 96 and Prince Philip, who passed at the age of 99. According to sources, the former prince could then potentially be laid to rest at the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore.
Criticism By Lawyer Representing Epstein Victims
GettyGloria Allred, the American layer representing 27 of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, questioned why Mountbatten-Windsor should receive such an honor.
“Andrew has brought disgrace upon the Royal Family and the UK as a result of his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein,” she said.
“Under these circumstances, the question arises as to why this man should be afforded the honor of a royal funeral. What kind of message would such a ceremony send to Epstein’s victims? Additionally, why should UK taxpayers bear the burden of paying his expenses either in life or after his death?”
Speaking of the controversy surrounding Mountbatten-Windsor, a source said,”The argument from critics is straightforward – Andrew no longer occupies the royal position he once did, so they believe the honors attached to that former position should be reconsidered as well.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail quotes Norman Baker, a former government minister and expect on royal finances, who criticized the rumor. “This must be an oversight. Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor is a commoner and should in no way be getting any sort of royal funeral.”
