The View Co-Host Makes Emotional Return After 2-Month Absence

The women of “The View” were finally all back at the Hot Topics table on Monday, April 13, after Alyssa Farah Griffin returned following a 2-month absence.

Griffin, 36, went on a hiatus from the ABC morning show in February, after she and husband Justin Griffin welcomed their first child together, a son named Justin Griffin Jr.

The baby boy was born on February 10.

Alyssa’s Big Return to ‘The View’

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg gave Alyssa a warm welcome back to the table at the top of the April 13 episode.

“We’re thrilled to be back and live with you this week. But more than anything, we are thrilled to have Alyssa back,” said Goldberg.

“I am back. I’m a human lighter, but he is here. He is with us,” Griffin responded, as adorable family photos were shown on screen.

“Little Justin is the most magical thing,” she continued. “All of you who are moms told me, your brain chemistry changes overnight, and it is so true. My world just feels more magical and full. And I’m just so grateful to him.”

Griffin Gives Her Support System a Shoutout

She then gave her husband, Justin, some love.

“I do really quickly want to thank my amazing husband. I mean, unbelievable. You see the best in your partner in traumatic labor,” said Griffin, before also thanking her wider support system.

“They say it takes a village. And I have the best nanny at home, Maria, and night nurse, which is such a blessing, Theresa, who I hope is watching,” she shared. “I could not be here today at work, doing my job, without them, and also shout out to nurses who are literally angels in scrubs. They are just the best.”

While she may not have been at the Hot Topics table during her hiatus, Griffin revealed she was still checking in on the show from bed.

“You were all amazing while I was gone. I was watching, and I was like, ‘This is the best show I’ve ever seen!'” exclaimed Griffin. “It’s way better on TV than at the table.”

From there, it was on to Hot Topics. Welcome back!

Griffin’s Journey to Motherhood

It wasn’t an easy journey for Griffin to get pregnant, something she opened up about at length when announcing her pregnancy in an October 2025 PEOPLE story.

Griffin and her husband told the publication they tried for two years to have a child, only conceiving after five rounds of in vitro fertilization. The political commentator also learned she had endometriosis, which she said “just added to the complications.”

Speaking with the outlet, Griffin was vulnerable about how difficult the IVF journey could be.

“There were a couple of times I was an absolute monster!” she shared. “IVF, it was an emotional roller coaster. My first round wasn’t bad, but I got over-confident and started my second right away, and let me tell you, it’s unlike anything I’ve experienced. You do feel somewhat out of control with your own body. It’s hard to balance the hormones of it all, especially when you’re not getting the best news after a cycle. But Justin, he was never hard on me.”

She added that she’s grateful she and her husband are fortunate enough “to do that many rounds of IVF,” which she went on to call “a miracle of science.”

“There was definitely some tears,” she said at the time.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
