“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg is embarking on an exciting new adventure in her career: A documentary about her life.
“For many years, people have been asking me to do a documentary about myself,” Goldberg announced during the Tuesday, March 10, episode of the daytime talk show. “So my friend Geeta [Gandbhir], who did ‘Mom’s Mobley’ with me. She is actually Oscar-nominated. She has two nominations for her documentary ‘The Perfect Neighbor,’ and a documentary short called ‘The Devil Is Busy.'”
She continued, “Imagine Entertainment is producing it, and they’re the same folks who worked the Hulu documentary ‘Barbara Walters: Tell Me Everything.'”
What Is Whoopi Goldberg’s Documentary About?
Whoopi is preparing to tell all in her new documentary, leaving nothing on the table.
“Well, you know, I have been me for a very long time,” the 70-year-old comedian said, “So if you want to know who I went out with, when, what color he was—it’s all there.”
She went on to explain that most of her life history is already publicly available information, adding, “There’s not a lot that I think is going to be interesting.”
“But I think of myself very differently than other people do,” she continued. “So it’s an opportunity for, I guess, [others] to learn more about me.”

The “Color Purple” actress explained that the biggest misconception about herself if that she is “one thing.”
“I am many different things and think many different ways, and sometimes I’m right and sometimes I’m wrong,” she continued. “But I don’t mind saying, ‘Hey, I was wrong.’ And I don’t like being messed with.”
Fans flooded the comment section of “The View’s” YouTube clip with excitement for the upcoming project.
“I can’t wait! Whoopi has been my inspiration for a long time,” one fan commented.
