“The Voice” is leaning all the way into nostalgia this season. Ahead of a major return, the show just dropped a clip that longtime fans definitely remember… and yep, it still hits just as hard.
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, the official “The Voice” Instagram account shared a throwback video of Season 1 winner Javier Colón and his now-iconic Blind Audition. If you’ve been watching since the beginning, you already know what’s coming next.
They captioned the post, “Javier Colón’s four-chair Blind audition still gives chills. The Season 1 winner is back for the All-Star Showdown!“
And yeah… chills is exactly the word.
That Four-Chair Turn Still Delivers
Time to rewind for a second. Back in 2011, Colón stepped onto the stage in front of the original coaching panel: Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, and CeeLo Green.
And after a bit of joking between Levine and Shelton, all four chairs turned. No hesitation. No second-guessing. Just pure, instant recognition that something special was happening.
Let’s be real; those early seasons hit different. The format was fresh, the stakes felt brand new, and moments like Colón’s audition helped define what the show would become.
Of course, he ultimately chose Team Adam, which turned out to be a pretty solid decision considering he went on to win the very first season of the series. Not a bad way to kick things off.

Fast forward to 2026, and Colón is stepping back onto “The Voice” stage… but this time, it’s a whole new game.
He’s returning for the March 30 and April 6 episodes of Season 29 as part of the All-Star Showdown, which, according to NBC, is “a series of sing-offs between former Voice Artists who competed on previous editions of Team Kelly, Team Adam, and Team Legend.”
So yeah, it’s not just about reliving past glory. It’s about proving you’ve still got it.
The twist? Contestants won’t be facing off against singers from their original teams. Instead, they’ll go head-to-head with artists representing other coaches (Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend). And each win scores a point for their coach; meaning there’s a bigger team dynamic at play this time around.
Whichever coach racks up the most wins earns a major advantage: they get to bring a second artist into the finale.
Not exactly low-pressure.
GettyA Full-Circle Moment for ‘The Voice’ Fans
There’s something undeniably fun about seeing a Season 1 winner return to the same stage that started it all. It feels like a full-circle moment… not just for Colón, but for longtime viewers who’ve been watching since day one.
And honestly? It seems like the show knows exactly what it’s doing here. Mixing fresh talent with familiar faces keeps things interesting while giving fans a little hit of nostalgia along the way.
Plus, if that throwback clip is any indication, Colón hasn’t lost the magic that made him stand out in the first place.
“The Voice” airs Mondays at 9:00pm ET on NBC, streaming the next day on Peacock.
