O’Hara’s death stunned fans and colleagues across the entertainment world. TMZ was the first to report that in the early hours of Friday morning, emergency responders were dispatched to her Brentwood home.

People reported that a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that paramedics arrived at 4:48 a.m. after receiving a medical aid call.

She was taken to a Los Angeles hospital in serious condition. Despite efforts to stabilize her, the actress later died.

Her agency, Creative Artists Agency, confirmed that O’Hara passed away following what was described as a brief illness, CNN reported. Her cause of death has not been made public.
