‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s’ Eliza Dushku Shares Surprising Career Update 9 Years After Hollywood Exit

Former actress Eliza Dushku has updated her fans on her very different life after she left Hollywood nine years ago for a major career change.

Albanian-American Dushku, 45, is known best around the world for playing the attitude-heavy Faith Lehane in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

On television, she also appeared as Faith in the show’s spin-off series “Angel,” Joss Whedon’s sci-fi series “Dollhouse,” and the supernatural drama series “Tru Calling.”

Movie-wise, she appeared in the likes of the 1994 action comedy “True Lies,” the 2000 teen comedy “Bring It On,” the 2001 stoner buddy comedy “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” and the 2003 slasher horror “Wrong Turn.”

Now, however, her life is very different. After retiring from acting in 2017 (her final roles came in the television action movie “The Saint” and three episodes of the CBS legal drama “Bull”), she now does work for a non-profit organization. She spoke about it in a recent post on social media.

Eliza Dushku Does Work for the Home Base Veteran Program

Eliza Dushku took to her Instagram account on Tuesday, May 28, to share her life update with her 748,000 followers.

Per the Daily Mail, Dushku uploaded a video in which she spoke to Boston Globe Media CEO Linda Pizzuti Henry about signing up for the Run to Home Base marathon to support local veterans.

Dushku’s caption on her post began, “The big thing I learned about the Run to Home Base @fenwaypark yesterday..?!”

Her caption continued, “You don’t actually have to RUN it. 😅”

It went on, “Walk it, jog it, skip it, roll it.. bring your family, your sister-friends &/or homies, bring a team!”

The caption concluded, “Just show up.”

Dushku’s delight at learning she didn’t actually have to run the whole marathon was clear to see.

The former actress explained how she isn’t in the greatest running shape at the moment, but conceded that she did do a lot of running around after her children.

She agreed to walk the race with Henry, before encouraging her viewers to attend the event.

Her followers flocked to the comments to have their say on the video.

Finally, one user simply said, “I miss you on my screen Eliza 🥰 but happy that you are happy 💓.”
