“American Idol” season 24 is heading to the finals with Top 3 finalist Hannah Harper preparing to give one final performance on the Idol stage in hopes of being crowned the next “American Idol.”
Harper has been a fan favorite since her audition, where she touched both the judges and viewers with her relatable story of being a stay-at-home mom of three. She also impressed them with her original song, “String Cheese,” inspired by her postpartum journey.
Week after week, Harper has continued to stand out in the competition, but the finale will be especially meaningful after learning she’ll get a chance to perform alongside one of her idols.
Hannah Harper Set to Perform With Lee Ann Womack During ‘American Idol’ Finale
Fan-favorite Hannah Harper has made it all the way to the Top 3 on “American Idol” season 24. The finale, which is set to be a three-hour event, will see Harper, Keyla Richardson, and Jordan McCullough not only take the stage for one last final performance, but will also see these three contestants get to duet with one of their idols.
For Harper, she got the surprise of a lifetime when she learned that she would be singing alongside country legend Lee Ann Womack. In a video shared on Instagram, Harper is asked to name some of her favorite country musicians, with Womack immediately being on the list.
“Her songs, I love singing them. It’s my style of music. That’s the music I want to create now in 2026,” she began.
Harper is then given a phone where she gets a special video message from Womack herself, letting her know that she will be joining her on the Idol stage for the grand finale.
“Girl, you’re on a whirlwind,” Womack shares. “You are everywhere, and I am loving it … I love your singing, I love your voice, I love your performance. I love your you! I just can’t wait to meet you in person, and it looks like I’m gonna get that chance because you and I are gonna sing together on the “American Idol” finale, and I’m so excited about it,” Womack added.
After playing the clip, a tearful Harper shares, “I literally just told you that would be the biggest dream.”
Harper Shares Her Future Plans After ‘American Idol’
DisneyEven if Harper doesn’t win “American Idol,” she has plans to continue to perform throughout the summer, even bringing her husband and three children along.
“We’re going to take a couple weeks to chill, but as soon as June hits, we have several appearances lined up for the rest of the year to share music,” she shared with Country Now.
In fact, Harper revealed that she planned to release her own music, having told the outlet that she used her downtime on “American Idol” to write several songs enough for a full-length album!
She shared her passion for songwriting, explaining that creating meaningful lyrics and telling a story through her music matters more to her than simply delivering an exciting performance.
“I think it’s challenged me as a songwriter to be extremely mindful moving forward in writing songs that only have purpose in that way. I want to write fun stuff, but more than anything, the songs that speak to people, they will remember them,” she said.
Harper continued, “If you jumped around on stage and put on a good performance, they’ll remember it for a while, but they’ll remember something more that made them feel a certain way. And I think that’s what I’ve learned the most is to continue to stay true to that part of who I am as an artist.”
The “American Idol” season 24 three-hour finale will air on Monday, May 11, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
