Even Olympic champions have brain-freeze moments.
Chloe Kim, a two-time Olympic gold medalist who recently earned silver at the 2026 Winter Olympics, had a hilarious mix-up during an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” when she accidentally confused guest host Pink with the show’s namesake, Kelly Clarkson.
While chatting about the music she listens to before competitions on Wednesday, March 4, Kim told the “Just Give Me a Reason” singer she had something to admit.
“Can I make a confession?” Kim began. “Growing up, when I was 12, 13, I loved listening to your music … like ‘What Doesn’t Kill You Make—'”
“That’s Kelly Clarkson,” Pink interrupted.
The two immediately burst into laughter.
“But that’s fine,” Pink added. “Because I’m Kelly Clarkson today!” The “So What” singer is guest-hosting “The Kelly Clarkson Show” this week in honor of Women’s History Month, according to NBC.
The 25-year-old Olympian quickly realized the mistake and jokingly explained what led to the mix-up.
“Wait guys, I’m so embarrassed. I’m so sorry,” she said. “So I took a nap before I came on here today and I literally woke up five minutes ago.”
Chloe Kim Earns Silver at 2026 Winter Olympics
GettyKim recently earned her third Olympic medal overall at the Milano Cortina Winter Games, taking silver in the women’s halfpipe while attempting to become the first snowboarder to win three consecutive Olympic gold medals. She previously won gold in both the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics.
The 25-year-old California native is one of the most decorated athletes in the sport, with eight Winter X Games gold medals, three World Championship titles, and two Winter Youth Olympic gold medals.
A month before the 2026 Winter Olympics, Kim dislocated her shoulder while training in Switzerland but still competed and won silver in the women’s halfpipe. She later revealed she will need surgery to repair the injury, according to CBS News.
GettyPink Temporarily Fills In as ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Host
Pink is currently guest-hosting “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for a week in honor of Women’s History Month.
The special episodes celebrate women through surprise performances and conversations with influential figures in entertainment, as well as everyday people making an impact in their communities, NBC said in a press release.
“Surprise performances and candid conversations with trailblazers in entertainment – alongside everyday people making a difference in their communities – will honor women’s achievements, resilience, and lasting impact across music, culture, and society,” according to NBC.
Clarkson also shared her excitement about the “Raise Your Glass” singer stepping in.
“The only thing that bums me out about Pink hosting a week of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ is that I’m not going to be able to be there to watch her,” Clarkson said in a statement. “I have been a fan for so long and have always been inspired by her music and her person. I love her!”
GettyNo further details about Clarkson’s absence from her eponymous show have been released.
Pink’s guest-hosting stint comes just weeks after Clarkson announced that her talk show will end after season 7.
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” Clarkson said in a statement, according to NBC. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time… You never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
Pink will host “The Kelly Clarkson Show” through Friday, March 6.
