CBS will air a two-hour special of “Big Brother 27” tonight Thursday, September 18 2025, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern / 7:00 p.m. Central. The network adjusted this week’s schedule to accommodate for no Sunday episode, likely because of the Emmy Awards and similar programming. Instead of the usual Sunday show, CBS combined that content into the extended Wednesday episode. Tonight, the double eviction event returns with a two-hour episode and heightened stakes.
Fear of the Mastermind’s “Month of Mayhem”
Houseguests have grown increasingly fearful of the Mastermind’s “Month of Mayhem” after watching Rachel Reilly’s shocking departure. The twist eliminated her without warning, stripping away the safety nets players typically rely on in “Big Brother.”
Ashley stood up to production after “Big Brother” told everyone to stop napping. She argued the houseguests weren’t napping — they were refusing to waste hours on “game talk” when twists kept changing in real time. She insisted that strategizing felt pointless when the Mastermind could suddenly eliminate someone without warning.
Ava backed Ashley, asking “What’s the point of game‐talk when the Mastermind can come up & eliminate you?” Ashley agreed and fired back, “You guys built the game this way. Don’t blame us!” When production yelled “Give it a rest,” Ashley and Ava shot back with frustration. Ashley reminded them that Rachel Reilly’s unconventional elimination had already made things feel unlike “normal Big Brother.” Both insisted there was nothing to strategize under such unpredictable rules.
BB Blockbuster Results & First Eviction
Lauren, Keanu, and Kelley face nomination. Those dynamics create tension: Keanu and Kelley both have previous wins in Block Buster yet never competed directly against one another until this episode.
8:40pm EST Lauren officially wins the blockbuster. Kelley or Keanu will be the first evicted tonight. Vince casts the sole vote to evict due to a tie. Vince ultimately decides to evict Kelley. On her way out, Kelley throws Vince under the bus and says “he will for the rest of the game, do what Morgan wants.”
How the Second Eviction Plays Out
The BB Mastermind comes back on screen in the living room to announce the double eviction to the houseguests. Julie Chen announces the BB Blockbuster is now over. Traditional big brother is back on with only the power of veto in play to save nominees from eviction.
In the new Head of Household (HOH) competition called “Wretched Reactor” involving houseguests to roll balls and land them on a platform. Morgan wins HOH with Ashley in second place.
Morgan nominated Keanu and Lauren for eviction. Housegests now face off in a memory competition for Head of Household.
Keanu wins the Power of Veto securing his safety. The renomination was Ava.
Lauren and Ava are final nominees and ultimately Lauren is evicted from the “Big Brother” house.
