Jason De Puy may be out of the “Big Brother 28” house, but he has plenty to say about what really happened behind the scenes.
De Puy, also known to “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fans as Salina EsTitties, opened up about his time on the CBS reality competition during an appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast. The former houseguest discussed everything from hiding his drag career to how differently the game looks on the live feeds.
De Puy entered the house as Jason rather than Salina, a decision he said gave him an opportunity to reconnect with himself outside of his drag persona. He explained that he had spent years working in drag and saw “Big Brother” as a chance to spend an entire summer simply being himself.
However, his carefully considered strategy quickly changed once he met his fellow houseguests.
“I think it really, your strategy and your game depends on the people in the house with you,” De Puy explained.
De Puy ultimately leaned into vulnerability as part of his gameplay. After becoming emotional shortly after entering the house, he noticed other players gathering around to comfort him. The moment helped him realize that his emotions could help him form connections.
Jason De Puy Reveals Why He Hid His ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Past
One secret De Puy successfully maintained was his history on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” He told Bristowe that keeping his identity under wraps was actually entertaining, especially when other houseguests discussed the franchise without recognizing him.
Looking back, however, De Puy acknowledged that revealing his background might have benefited his game. He said being a “Drag Race” personality did not necessarily make him a competitive threat and wondered whether sharing the information could have helped him build stronger relationships.
The experience also gave De Puy a new appreciation for just how much “Big Brother” viewers can miss if they only follow the televised episodes.
“You can consume ‘Big Brother’ in so many different ways,” he said, adding that he appreciates live feeders because “they get the real story.”

Now that he can watch “Big Brother 28” from outside the house, De Puy has a different perspective on the players still competing for the win.
He praised Dee Valladares’ social game, admitting that she convinced him early on that she needed guidance about “Big Brother” despite already having extensive reality competition experience. De Puy also pointed to Taylor Brown as a player who has emerged as a force on the opposite side of the house.
De Puy’s early exit also left him thinking about what could have happened had he survived longer. Making the jury was a major goal, and he acknowledged that his competitive nature made leaving the game particularly difficult.
Still, his time in the house gave him an experience few “Big Brother” fans ever get: seeing firsthand how much more complicated the game becomes when every conversation, relationship and decision can change a player’s position.
And if “Big Brother” ever gives De Puy another opportunity to play, he would enter the house with something he didn’t have the first time around, firsthand knowledge of how quickly the game can change.
