Christian Slater is a father of four, and his children span more than two decades.
The 57-year-old “Heathers” star shares his two oldest children, Jaden and Eliana, with ex-wife Ryan Haddon, whom he married in 2000 and split from in 2006. Slater later married Brittany Lopez in 2013, and they welcomed daughter Lena in 2019 and son Sully in 2024.
With 25 years separating his oldest and youngest children, Slater has acknowledged that his approach to fatherhood has changed.
“The whole thing is different. I’m certainly a lot more present, and I just love it,” Slater told People. “I think I was more scared of [fatherhood] the first go around and a little bit more confused, and I was very distracted.”
“And now, it’s all I really think about, and all I really care about, and all I want to be around. I’m happy to be in that situation,” he added.

Slater became a father for the first time when Jaden was born in 1999, one year before he married Haddon.
Now 27, Jaden has followed his famous father into entertainment while also building a modeling career. His acting credits include “Bloody Axe Wound” and “One Stupid Thing,” with “Dad’s Party,” “Heavy Hitters” and “Into the Sky” among his upcoming projects.
Jaden has also shared behind-the-scenes photos from modeling jobs on social media, including his 2025 Blauer Fall/Winter campaign. The father and son bear a striking resemblance, sharing similar facial features.
When Jaden and younger sister Eliana were children, Slater said one of their routines involved reading together.
“Lately, I’ve been reading the ‘Nancy Drew’ books to my kids. I just do what I can to encourage them to be little readers,” he told Parade in 2009.
“We started going through three chapters of ‘Nancy Drew’ every night, and they’re so into it,” he added. “Their enthusiasm has really kind of got me very excited about it.”

Slater and Haddon welcomed Eliana in 2001. Unlike Jaden, she has largely remained outside the entertainment industry.
Slater previously praised his daughter while discussing how she adjusted to becoming a big sister after Lena arrived.
“[Eliana] has really blossomed as a very beautiful, intelligent, wonderful, very kind, lovely person,” he told People. “She’s great with the baby and just a really warm-hearted, special person.”
“I’m proud of her and her being ready to take on life and have some of her own independent adventures now,” he added.
Eliana joined her father when he received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2025, although Slater said his celebrity status doesn’t mean much to his daughters.
“My older daughter, I suppose, has some sense of it. But it means nothing to her, and it means nothing to my younger daughter, too,” he told People. “It’s meaningless, but they’re the greatest.”

Slater returned to the newborn stage when he and Lopez welcomed Lena in 2019, 18 years after Eliana’s birth.
By age 5, Lena had already developed an active personality.
“[She’s] a real passionate, excitable person,” Slater told People in 2024. “I mean, she skateboards, she ice-skates, she climbs rock walls, she does aerobics, she plays tennis, and she’s five. We can’t stop her.”
The couple welcomed Sully in July 2024. Before his arrival, Slater told “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that Lena had an amusing reaction to learning she was getting a little brother.
“When we told her that my wife was pregnant, she asked when he was going to come. And we said, ‘Well, about six more months he’s going to be here,'” Slater recalled. “And she goes, ‘Okay, good. I have time to build a wall.’ She was ready to protect all of her toys.”
Slater later described Sully as “hilarious,” adding, “He wakes up, and he’s got a great big smile, big personality, and I love him dearly.”
The actor summed up his feelings about all four children during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
“I have amazing and wonderful children [and] I can’t imagine my life without them. They are the greatest,” Slater said. “Having a star on Hollywood Boulevard is great, but none of this would have been possible without my family and the love I have today.”
