TikTok and other social media platforms have become instrumental for up-and-coming artists looking to showcase their work. Country music star Megan Moroney knows this well, as she has used the platform to soft-launch songs in the past.
Lucky for fans, the singer recently revealed that a TikTok fan-favorite unreleased track will have a place on her new album. In a video clip, Moroney shared with radio host Elaina Smith that her yet-unreleased single, “Wedding Dress,” is among the tracks that will appear on what she’s tentatively calling “MM3,” her third studio album.
The Singer Said “Wedding Dress” Will be The Saddest Song on the Album
GettyWhen discussing new music, Smith asked Moroney about what she thinks is the saddest song on her future new release, the singer didn’t hesitate to name “Wedding Dress” as the album’s undisputed tear-jerker. She also shared that this was her first time announcing the song’s presence on her next album. “That’s the first time I’m saying that out loud. I didn’t get approval to do that, but it’s literally fine.”
As Moroney explained to Smith, the message of the song is downright heartbreaking. “Iโm okay with missing him now, but please donโt let me miss him in a wedding dress. Thatโs about as sad as it gets.”
A video of Moroney performing the song surfaced in December 2024, and fans in the comments section were smitten. Many fans were begging the singer to officially release the songs, while others commented on its overall beauty. In the video, Moroney plays an unplugged version of the song with nothing but her voice and an acoustic guitar.
No official release date for a third Moroney album is available as of this publication, so fans will have to keep waiting a little while longer.
Moroney is Touring in Support of Her Current Album in 2025
GettyFans in select cities don’t have to rely on TikTok to see Moroney perform; the self-proclaimed emo cowgirl’s Am I Okay? Tour will take the artist across the U.S. this summer. As her official website shared, Moroney has several music festival stops planned, along with playing fairgrounds and amphitheaters. The tour is in support of her most recent studio album of the same name, which hit the airwaves in July 2024.
