“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, announced the birth of their daughter on Monday, January 5. They did this with a touching Instagram post, showing her tiny foot covered by their hands. In the weeks since their announcement, the couple has provided more information about baby Everley Capri Hough, who was born on December 29, 2025.
Hayley Erbert Celebrates Derek Hough
The most recent update came on Monday, January 26, when Erbert posted a video on Instagram showing Hough holding their baby and gently rocking her in his arms. He is standing in their garden, and a rainbow is in the sky. The rainbow has been a significant symbol for the couple, who have referred to Everley as their rainbow baby after revealing that Erbert previously had a miscarriage.
The video is beautiful, but it is the words that Erbert wrote in the caption that is the real tear-jerker, as she celebrated Hough for who he is a father. “My love. Watching you step into the role of Dad is the greatest thing l have ever watched you do,” the caption reads. “I’ve always imagined you would be the most incredible father.. And you are that and everything more. You are HER dad. Her safe place. Her protector. Her role model. The man who will show her what love looks like. You already are her world and I’m super emo about it.”
Erbert continued, “Seeing our baby girl in your arms and the way you look at each other feels like a reflection of this beautiful life we have built together. We have created something so full of love, it’s impossible not to be proud of it. I’m so grateful for you, the man Everley gets to look up to and one day look for in a partner. The man I am so lucky to call my husband and the father of my child. I love you so much, Derek. I’d choose you over and over again, in this lifetime and any lifetime after.”
