ABC seemed to have Taylor Frankie Paul lined up for another major gig after she was cast as “The Bachelorette.”
In a new report from The U.S. Sun, a source told the outlet that Paul was “set to join ‘DWTS,’ that was part of her overall contract with Disney.” However, that was canceled due to a video that was released showing Paul involved in an altercation with her ex, Dakota Mortensen.
The source added that Paul was “more than thrilled” to be on “Dancing With The Stars,” adding that “she actually seemed more excited about being on ‘DWTS’ than even being the Bachelorette.” And with that, she was suspected to have been partnered with Brandon Armstrong.
Along with the decision to not have Paul on “Dancing With the Stars,” the network also decided to cancel Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” and the hit Hulu Show, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which Paul stars in, paused filming due to this incident.
Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives Filming Set To Resume
The cameras are going back up!
Production for Season 5 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” will resume “soon,” TMZ reports, with the initial report stating that it was unclear if Paul or Mortensen “will be a part of filming with the rest of the cast when cameras go back up.”
However, the outlet quickly came out with an update, saying that Paul will return to the hit show “at some point,” but for now is focusing on her family.
Sources told TMZ that “Taylor’s priority remains her kids and family, but she is not completely cutting off ties with the show, as we’re told she will film at some point.” And with that, production as well as the cast are “supportive” of her return when she is ready.
Will Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season of ‘The Bachelorette’ Air
Just before Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” was set to air, ABC pulled it even though it had already been filmed.
“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” a spokesperson from parent company Disney said in a statement to People at the time.
However, the use of “at this time” in the statement left a possibility that the show could hit television screens at some point in the future.
“I think they’re hoping to salvage it,” former “Bachelor” producer Julie LaPlaca told Entertainment Weekly. “If they can find a way, they will.”
“At the end of the day, though, it’s money, and they have a season that they shot, and they want to air,” she added, with TMZ reporting that each episode of the show costs around $2 million to produce.
An industry insider shared similar sentiments when speaking with Page Six at the end of March.
“ABC left a window in their statement to bring [the show] back. They haven’t canceled it — they simply paused it,” the industry insider said
