Wolfgang Puck has announced the opening of yet another restaurant to add to his empire of fine dining locations across the globe.
Austrian-born chef and restaurateur Puck, 76, took to Instagram — where his account has 397,000 followers — to post about the opening of Spago, Shanghai.
Puck already has Spago restaurants in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, Maui, Bodrum, Budapest, Istanbul, Singapore, and Riyadh. Additionally, his CUT restaurants can be found in numerous locations worldwide, and he owns an array of other high-end premises, including Chinois on Main, Merois, re/Asian Cuisine, Ospero, and III by Wolfgang Puck — most of which (but not all) are located in the United States.
This latest location looks every bit as stunning as the ones that came before it.
Wolfgang Puck Gave ‘Huge Thank You’ to Everyone at the Opening
Wolfgang Puck’s post comprised a reel of eleven photographs from the opening of Spago, Shangai.
The first was of Puck himself, along with his wife, Gelila, delivering a speech to those in attendance. The rest included more pictures of Puck and Gelila, as well as various other guests, including Emmy-winning television host Yue-Sai Kan.
Puck’s post included a heartfelt caption which read, “Opening of Spago Shanghai. A huge Thank you to everyone who join us! And special Thank you to @grace.pen @yuesaikan for making the evening spectacular,. I and @gelilapuck are lucky to have such amazing friends like you. Thank you!”
The chef’s followers rushed to congratulate him in the comments, with one writing, “Awww, I love this!! Y’all look Great Chef🙌🙏🏼💜💯🫶🏼🤙👍🤘.”
Another wrote, “Congratulations Wolfgang!!!✝️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻✌🏻✌🏻🫶🫶”
Someone else referred to Puck’s son, Byron (the President of Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group), and said, “Wolf, wishing you great success!. Congratulations to Byron for an amazing achievement! Bernard.”
Puck’s New Restaurant Presents ‘Refined Fusion Cuisine’
GettySo, what can diners expect from Wolfgang Puck’s latest restaurant, Spago, Shangai?
Well, the establishment’s official website explains. It says, “Spago at the rooftop of The St. Regis on the Bund, Shanghai brings California-inspired cuisine and Hollywood glamour to the city’s most iconic address. Founded by legendary chef Wolfgang Puck, Spago unites modern culinary artistry with local influences, presenting refined fusion cuisine alongside a terrace with sweeping views of the Huangpu River and the Bund. With its distinctive style and sophistication, Spago Shanghai sets a new benchmark in the city’s dining scene.”
Suffice it to say, Spago, Shanghai sounds every bit as spectacular as Puck suggested in his post. It’s open for dinner from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. every night. However, the bar is open from 5:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. from Sunday until Thursday, and from 5:30 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
If you ever find yourself in China’s largest city (with a large amount of cash at your disposal), make sure you try it!
