After a year of many beloved HGTV shows not being renewed for future seasons, from “Married to Real Estate” to “Farmhouse Fixer,” the network announced much happier news for two shows on December 15, 2025.
HGTV has decided to renew “Castle Impossible” for a second season, continuing to chronicle married couple Daphne Reckert and Ian Figueira’s renovation of their inherited 500-year-old château near Paris. The network also announced “Zillow Gone Wild” starring Jack McBrayer will get a third season.
Fans Are Over the Moon About ‘Castle Impossible’ Renewal
Fans have been begging HGTV to renew Reckert and Figueira’s “Castle Impossible” since it first aired in the spring of 2025, and the couple has encouraged fans to watch and request a renewal from HGTV.
“We have been thrilled to have so many people joining us for our castle adventures and it means the world to us to have the support and encouragement from so many of you,” they wrote in an Instagram post before their season finale in June.
The California natives, who moved to France when Reckert inherited a run-down castle that Reckert’s late grandfather owned, have continued to post video updates on their Wild Figs YouTube channel periodically, showcasing their progress and cool discoveries, from uncovering 400-year-old artwork to cleaning the castle’s moat with fire.
So news of the show’s renewal, with new episodes due in 2026, has many viewers over the moon. They quickly began commenting on HGTV’s announcement, including one who wrote, “Yayaya!!!! been dying to continue watching.”
Another commented, “Yeah, can’t wait for the new episodes to see how the castle has evolved!!!! Congratulations”
Someone else exclaimed, “C’est magnifique!! I love this show. Thank you for renewing!”
How to Catch Up on ‘Castle Impossible’ Renovations
For those who can’t possibly wait until 2026 for new “Castle Impossible” episodes, the first season is available to stream on HBO Max and Discovery+, but the Reckert and Figuera also periodically post lengthy videos on YouTube about their latest renovations. On November 30, they uploaded the before and after of their recent bathroom makeover.
Their channel’s profile says the chateau they inherited includes a “500-year-old medieval dungeon, hunters lodge, 18th century farmhouse, 28 horse stables, and a large forest with two lakes.” According to HGTV, the sprawling estate once welcomed royal guests, including King Louis XIII.
When not restoring the massive property, the couple is also overseeing a wedding business, since the chateau serves a popular wedding destination site.
