“Renovation Aloha” stars Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama are expanding their family!
On April 28, the HGTV couple took to Instagram to announce that Tristyn’s brother Travis Haxton and his wife, Taylor Haxton, are pregnant.
“We are so excited to be having the family grow and to be aunty and uncle to such a beautiful blessing!! You are so loved little one – aunty will teach you how to design and uncle will teach you how to buy houses! Congrats to @travis.haxton + @taylor.haxton,” the HGTV stars captioned their Instagram video.
Tristyn & Kamohai Kalama Announce Family Pregnancy
In the announcement clip, the “Renovation Aloha” hosts were joined by the expectant parents, who also star in the hit HGTV show as part of their real estate and construction team. “We’ve been keeping a secret for a really, really long time,” Tristyn said. As the camera backs away from the HGTV couple, Travis and Taylor pop into the frame as Tristyn giddily yells, “They’re having a baby!” This will be the couple’s first child together.
Much like Tristyn and Kamohai, the Haxtons share a career in real estate and development. Tristyn’s brother Travis is the lead project manager of Hawaii Custom Creations — the “Renovation Aloha” stars’ real estate investment and renovation firm (also co-founded by the Haxtons). Travis’ wife, Taylor, serves as the firm’s realtor.
In a previous interview shared by HGTV, Tristyn opened up about their family-owned business, noting how their relatives are a big part of what they do and why.
“Our family is our backbone, our foundation, our support system. My brother is our project manager,” she shared. “My mom is pivotal with the kids. My sister-in-law is a realtor and sells a handful of our houses when we decide to list them. Kamohai’s cousin owns and operates the landscaping company. When there’s a need, there’s no doubt the family will be there for us.”
‘Renovation Aloha’ Stars Share the Importance of Keeping Local Families in Hawaii
Kamohai’s family is also a contributing part to his and his wife’s real estate success in Oahu, as his family has lived on the island for decades, HGTV reported. During her previous interview, Tristyn noted that her husband has 87 first cousins, so it’s nearly impossible to “go anywhere on Oahu without Kamohai bumping into someone.”
The HGTV star added that keeping familial generations on the island is one of the key missions of Hawaii Custom Creations — and being able to do so with her own relatives makes it all the more special.
“When you own the real estate, you can control the real estate. [We want] to keep local families here in Hawaii. If we can control who the home goes to, then we try to do that,” Tristyn said. “There’s so much more to Renovation Aloha than buying a house and selling it. It’s about the culture and the people we’re interacting with.”
As for Tristyn and Kamohai, the couple have two children together, Yasiel (born 2018) and son Vale (born 2020), HGTV reported.
When the “Renovation Aloha” stars celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in March, Kamohai shared a sweet message for his wife on Instagram, writing, “I intentionally look back at what we have created and know that I would not have been able to do it without you.”
