Rick Harrison, star of History Channel hit “Pawn Stars,” is on the road to recovery after undergoing emergency surgery.
TMZ reports that Harrison, 61, underwent bypass surgery after a routine procedure to involving a stent revealed a far deeper coronary issue that had doctors so concerned that the decision was made that he go under the knife immediately.
A ‘More Serious Issue’
According to TMZ, a spokesperson for the Harrison family said that “Rick went in for what was expected to be a routine stent procedure, but doctors discovered a much more serious issue that required bypass surgery.”
Added the outlet: “Fortunately, we’re told the reality star is resting comfortably and looking forward to a full recovery. Rick’s rep tells us he’s grateful for the treatment he’s receiving from doctors and staff at the hospital — and his wife, Angie, and his family are right by his side.”
A Recent Wedding
Harrison and his wife are only recently wed, with the two tying the knot back in January 2026.
At the time, People reported that the ceremony took place on January 3, in Little White Wedding Chapel ceremony officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator.
“We are so excited to start this next chapter as husband and wife and celebrate with friends and family in Las Vegas, and also at our wedding later this month,” the couple said in a statement to the magazine.
“It has been such an adventure already,” the statement added, “and we are looking forward to all of it.”
A 2025 Engagement
Harrison popped the question in March 2025, documenting his proposal in a sweet Instagram post.
In a series of photos he shared, Harrison is down on one knee.
“She said yes!” he wrote in the caption.
A Tragic Loss
Meanwhile, Harrison is still grieving the tragic loss of his son, Adam, who passed away in January 2024 after an accidental fentanyl overdose at age 39.
Last year, Harrison sat down for an interview with “In Depth With Graham Bensinger,” where he candidly discussed his son’s death and the impact it had upon him.
‘I think about him every day. In his 20s, he had the drug problems, I mean, I put him in rehab so many times, and every time he’d do great and then fall back,” Harrison recalled.
‘You’ll hear the same story from a million people. It got really, really bad, and apparently it wasn’t heroin, he got some fentanyl and it killed him,” he continued while wiping tears from his eyes.
He admitted he’d become consumed with thoughts of what-if, wondering if there may have been a different outcome had he done something else.
‘When you lose a kid, you second-guess [expletive’ everything. It’s like, ‘Could I have done this? Could I have done this?’ It goes through your brain constantly. There’s not a day that goes by I don’t think about him. Could I have done something different? I think I did everything right,” he shared.
“What if I just grabbed him, [expletive] locked him in the back of my truck and drove him to Oregon and put him in the river where he couldn’t get anything?’ he mused.
