“Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro shared a vulnerable mental health post amid concerns surrounding his behavior during a recent cast interview.
The reality television star addressed his fans and followers in an emotional story posted to his Instagram account. He shared a message of hope after speculation surrounding his appearance raised eyebrows.

GettyIn an Instagram story, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro shared a hopeful message to his followers after concerns that he appeared to doze off during a recent SiriusXM interview alongside his “Jersey Shore” cast members.
The Sun reported that the reality star had his eyes closed and looked to be nodding off throughout the promotional spot Magro shared the following statement, as published by Page Six. He did not state if his current remarks were connected to concerns over his recent public appearance.
“High functioning depression is waking up each day with a face that works but a heart that doesn’t. Doing everything you’re supposed to do while feeling nothing inside. Most days it’s like being trapped in your own life, forced to keep moving even when every part of you wants to stop,” Ortiz-Magro wrote.
He added, “Whoever needed this today! You’re not alone.”
In subsequent slides, he posted information that May is Mental Health Awareness Month. He used the social media platform to share resources and encourage others to take their mental health seriously.
A ‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Member Said Their ‘Heart Was Heavy’ Over Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s Behavior
In an Instagram post discussing his work with The Archangel Centers, Mike Sorrentino shared his thoughts about Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s behavior during the “Jersey Shore” Press event.
Sorrentino wrote in the comments section of his post, “I want to be clear that I am not responsible for the actions of any other cast member. At the same time, my heart is heavy seeing what Ron, a grown adult, chose to present during press.”
He continued, “This situation is still developing, and while I do not know the full extent of what he may be going through, I do know it is separate from my path. I reached out to check in and offer my support, and I am still waiting to hear back. If he is willing, I will be there for him.”
Sorrentino concluded, “My heart is with anyone who is struggling. As more becomes clear, I hope we all respond with empathy. Please be kind to someone who may be suffering.”
In 2021, E! News reported that Ronnie Ortiz-Magro previously stepped back from his role on “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.” At that time, he planned to seek treatment for mental health issues.
He released a statement which read, “After talking to the team at MTV, we have mutually agreed that I will step away from the show while I seek medical treatment for mental health issues that I’ve ignored for too long. My number one goal now is facing my struggles head-on.”
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro will appear as a full-time cast member during Season 7 of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.” The new season begins on Thursday, May 7, at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
