Johnny Knoxville Makes MAJOR ‘Jackass’ Movie Announcement

The leading star of the ever-popular MTV vehicle “Jackass” has made a major announcement about the future of the franchise. Johnny Knoxville took to social on January 8, 2026, to confirm a fifth movie in the reality slapstick comedy series is on the way.

“Jackass” began as a television show in 2000 and has since spawned four films; 2002’s “Jackass: The Movie,” 2006’s “Jackass Number Two,” 2010’s “Jackass 3D,” and 2022’s “Jackass Forever.” A spin-off movie with a narrative — 2013’s “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa” — and several director’s cuts of the films have also been released.

Knoxville, 54 — whose real name is Philip John Clapp — shared the exciting news on his Instagram account with his 4.2 million followers.

Johnny Knoxville Announced ‘Jackass’ Is Back ‘This Summer’

Johnny Knoxville’s post comprised two pictures. The first was of the “Jackass” logo with the date “June 26th” written under it, confirming the release date of the new movie. The second was of Knoxville himself, in a celebratory pose, clearly delighted to be returning to the big screen with his crazy buddies.

Knoxville captioned the post as follows: “Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th.🎉❤️🎉 More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!”

The comments section was full of enthusiastic responses to the news, most notably from Knoxville’s fellow “Jackass” star Steve-O, who wrote, “Yeah dude!!!”

One user wrote, “YASSSSSSSS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌 I don’t think I am ever more excited for anything than your new movies 🍿.”

Another keen “Jackass” fan commented, “HUUUUUUUH OMG!!!!!”

Someone else expressed their excitement by saying, “Yeeeehaaa!!🔥❤️🔥”

‘Jackass’ Fans Had One Common Question for Knoxville

Despite the obvious excitement at the news of another “Jackass” movie, there was one recurring question in the comments section that we don’t yet have an answer to: that regarding whether or not original cast member Bam Margera will be returning to the franchise for the fifth installment.

For instance, one inquisitive Instagram user wrote, “Will Bam be in it tho?”

Margera, 46, has famously endured a number of personal and legal issues. He was fired from the previous movie, “Jackass Forever,” for his behavior, and his appearance in it is brief, to say the least. Moreover, in a 2025 interview with CinemaBlend, Margera — whose real name is Brandon Cole Margera — appeared to rule out further involvement with the franchise, even if he was offered the chance to return to it.

Margera told the publication, “They have like new dudes, and what they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and, you know, I had to go to court over it and I just, you couldn’t offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them. The damage has been done.”

It remains to be seen whether or not Margera will appear in the new “Jackass” movie, but it appears fans of the franchise would like it to happen.

In the meantime, all we can do is wait just over six months for the madness to begin again!
