MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ Season 41 Live Spoilers

Tonight, MTV aired the ninth episode of “The Challenge: Vets & New Threats,” and here’s everything that happened during the episode, including who got eliminated.

Last episode, Derek Chavez lost the elimination, a pole wrestler, to CT Tamburello. At the end of the elimination, host TJ Lavin announced that the next challenge would be individual, rather than in teams.

The episode started with a message of body positivity, after Ashley Mitchell made fun of Aneesa Ferreira for thinking she has a chance at winning the whole show despite Aneesa’s body type. However, Aneesa said she’s in the best shape of her life and believes she can do anything, including win the season.

The Daily Challenge: The Mini Final

Tonight’s challenge was The Mini Final, a staple of “The Challenge” universe. The challenge was called “broken dreams” and required the contestants to travel six miles in total. Throughout the challenge, the cast had to compete in an eating challenge and various puzzles.

During the eating challenge, Ashley admitted Aneesa had a lot more points than her on the leaderboard, meaning Aneesa has thus far been doing better than Ashley in the daily challenges. This confession was a stark contrast from her earlier comments about Aneesa’s abilities.

Michaela Bradshaw and Derek Kosinski discovered some of the onions and peppers from the eating challenge sitting, uneaten, on the ground. This indicated that someone, perhaps multiple people, had thrown their food in an attempt to avoid eating it and move on with the challenge. If true, this would clearly be an example of cheating.

How ‘The Challenge’ Handled the Cheating Scandal

Right before the commercial break, TJ announced there had been a lot of cheating during the eating portion of the challenge. He asked if anyone wanted to cop to what they had done.

No one wanted to admit they had cheated, so TJ said the whole challenge was moot. Any points anyone had acquired for placing high enough in The Mini Final were gone, and everyone had run The Mini Final for nothing.

Back at the house, Jonna Mannion admitted she was one of the cheaters. Sydney Segal also confessed to cheating during a confessional.

The Lock In: Who Did Everyone Partner With?

Tonight, everyone selected the partners they’ll play the rest of the season with. Michaela picked Cedric Hodges. Yeremi Hykel picked Aviv Melmed. Olivia Kaiser picked Will Gagnon. Sydney picked Turbo Çamkıran. Aneesa picked Jake Cornish. Adrienne Naylor picked Theo Campbell. Justin Hinsley chose Nany Gonzalez. Leo Temory picked Ashley Mitchell. CT picked Tay Wilcoxsin. America Lopez picked Leroy Garrett. Dee Valladares picked Derek. Gabe Wai and Jonna were partnered together by default.

Moving forward, pairs will be eliminated together.
