“Piano Man” singer Billy Joel couldn’t be more pleased with his middle daughter, Della Rose Joel.
As the proud father of three daughters, the performer has plenty of milestones to celebrate every day. He recently showed off Della’s latest accolade to fans, noting that “amazing things” await his daughter.
Billy Joel Celebrates Della’s Elementary School Graduation
Billy Joel became a father for the first time in 1985 when his oldest child, Alexa Ray Joel, was born. He went on to marry Alexis Roderick in 2015 and welcomed two more daughters, Della Rose in 2015 and Remy Anne in 2017.
This week, the family celebrated Della’s transition from elementary school to middle school. They showered her with praise and posted photos from the event on social media.
“Congratulations to our elementary school graduate! We now have a middle schooler,” Billy Joel proudly shared on Instagram. “Mommy and Daddy are beyond proud of all your hard work and determination. Your first day of school seemed like yesterday. Amazing things are in store for this girl 🌹🌹🌹”
The singer attached several photos of Della throughout her life. Some photos also include his youngest daughter, Remy. It’s clear the sisters are incredibly close and share a special bond. Fans enjoyed seeing the adorable photos of the girls. Though Della is headed to a higher level of learning, she will always be his little girl.
In the comments, fans praised Della on her accomplishment. Many noted that she bore a striking resemblance to her famous father.

In May 2025, the singer publicly announced that he was struggling with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). The condition severely impaired Joel’s hearing, vision, and balance, making performances nearly impossible. Joel bravely chose to cancel his remaining concerts and undergo treatment and physical therapy.
Over the past year, the artist eventually returned to the public eye. He’s given fans glimpses of his life on social media and enjoys spending time with his family during his recovery.
Model Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel were married from 1985 to 1994. During that time, they welcomed their daughter, Alexa Ray Joel. Though their marriage didn’t work out, the exes stayed on pleasant terms.
Christie Brinkley even publicly shared an update about the singer’s health after their daughter performed one of his songs at an event.
“He’s doing very well and [Alexa Ray] was so excited to be able to perform for him and I was sorry that I had to miss that night. I was out of town, but otherwise it was so wonderful,” the 72-year-old told HELLO! in April.
