Lizzo debuted a dramatic new look on January 9, 2026 when she shared a before-and-after video of her hair transformation. The four-time Grammy winner sported dark, should-length hair in the before clip, and afterwards, she showed off close-cropped golden ringlets.
For a long time, the “Truth Hurts” singer has made super long hair an essential part of her signature look.
In September 2026, she attended a fashion show wearing red-hued lengths that reached her waist.
GettyIn June, she attended a celebrity softball game at Dodger Stadium in a long, flowing platinum look.
GettyLizzo Previously Talked About Embracing Her Natural Hair
GettyIn an Instagram Reel she shared back in 2024, Lizzo showed a variety of natural styles and discussed her hair journey. She said, “So y’all, on my birthday I decided to do all-natural hairstyles. I did no wigs and no installations. I am very insecure about my hair. I always have been. But you know what? For my birthday, I wanted to just embrace my hair. I’m so proud of how these looks came out.”
She said for her birthday she incorporated a few added pieces, for a style that made her feel like Sailor Moon, an iconic anime character. The pop star went on, “Every night when I came back to the hotel, I would look at myself and I would be like, ‘Gosh, you look so beautiful! You are so sickening. Yes you can have cornrows on your birthday. Braids are beautiful.'”
