It was a big night for Furtado, who was inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame. Fellow Canadian Drake gave a video speech for Furtado, marking the first time he had appeared at the awards since 2011 (even though he was not physically present). Drake brought Furtado to tears with his heartfelt speech, CTV News reports

The “I’m Like a Bird” singer shared several photos from the night on Instagram and showed off her dress from every angle. The back features a stunning lace-up finish, and the dress’s fullness creates a princess-inspired appearance. In the caption, Furtado added a Canadian flag and red and black heart emojis. Furtado also tagged the Juno Awards.

Fans have praised Furtado’s appearance. “I love you so much Nelly,” a fan wrote. “Ommgggggggg,” another person reacted. Other reactions include, “Much well-deserve recognition!!!!!!,” “Gorgeous,” and “Perfection!!”

Earlier in the night, Furtado shared additional photos from the event, including one of her walking the red carpet. “Here we go again, @thejunoawards! Tonight I’ll be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame. I’m thrilled to celebrate with my fellow community of Canadian musicians,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “I’m feeling so grateful (and nervous!).”

Nelly Furtado Steps Away from Performing

In recent years, Furtado has embraced a fuller figure, and she looks gorgeous. She has been an advocate for body positivity, and many fans have rallied around her. Fans are embracing the new Furtado with open arms, but in October 2025, she revealed she would stop performing live. In a lengthy post on Instagram, the singer shared her “joy” at fans rediscovering her music but also expressed a desire to pursue other creative opportunities.

“It’s been so fun embracing this opportunity, getting out on stages again, and seeing up close the true lasting power of good music. It’s made me really believe in magic,” she wrote. “All this aside, I have decided to step away from performance for the foreseeable future and pursue some other creative and personal endeavours that I feel would better suit this next phase of my life. I have enjoyed my career immensely, and I still love writing music, as I have always seen it as a hobby I was lucky enough to make into a career. I’ll identify as a songwriter forever.”
