Rihanna and A$AP Rocky appear to be taking more security precautions when they’re out in public these days. The famous couple was spotted together for the first time since the scary attack on their home, and it looks like they’ve added extra security to accompany them.
Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Were ‘Flanked by Security’
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made sure that they were protected when they were out together on March 17.
“Rihanna and A$AP Rocky aren’t taking any chances after the terrifying shooting at their Los Angeles home … stepping out in NYC looking calm but heavily guarded,” according to TMZ. “The couple was spotted leaving a Manhattan building Tuesday, rolling deep with a squad of six security guards flanking them on all sides. Witnesses say the pair moved quickly as they made their exit to a nearby SUV. This marks the first time they’ve been seen together since the scary incident last Sunday.”
Page Six also reported that “[t]he couple were heavily flanked by security Tuesday as they exited a Manhattan building to a waiting SUV.” During the outing, “Rihanna wore cuffed jeans, snakeskin boots, a gray sweater and a leather jacket…, while Rocky followed behind her in a black trenchcoat and a baseball cap.”
“As you know, things got intense [last Sunday] when Rihanna, A$AP and their kids were inside their L.A. home when an assailant opened fire, sending multiple rounds into the property,” per TMZ. “Cops wasted no time tracking down the suspect, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who was arrested shortly after the shooting.”
TMZ added that “[t]hankfully, no injuries were reported. Based on this latest sighting, it looks like security is now a top priority.”
Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Already Had ‘a Great Security Team’
GettyRihanna and A$AP Rocky’s outing comes after the incident at the duo’s Beverly Hills home where they live with their sons RZA (3) and Riot, (2), as well as daughter Rocki (6 months).
“Rihanna, 38, was relaxing at home when the suspect, believed by police to be Ivanna Ortiz, 35, allegedly opened fire on the house with an AR-15-style rifle while parked outside,” according to People. “Ortiz fled the scene, but was later arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.”
“Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen,” a source told People. “Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened. She doesn’t understand why someone would target her family.”
The source also noted that the incident was “terrifying” for the singer and mother, but “thankfully everyone is safe.”
