Rihanna ‘Shaken’ After Gunfire Outside Home She Shares with A$AP Rocky: REPORT

Beloved music icon Rihanna is dealing with the fallout of a scary incident that occurred at her Beverly Hills home on Sunday afternoon after a woman fired several shots toward the property.

And a source spoke with PEOPLE about how she is doing, saying that it was “terrifying,” but added that “thankfully everyone is safe.”

“Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen,” the source told the outlet. “Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened. She doesn’t understand why someone would target her family.”

The Latest On The Case

According to LAPD radio dispatch audio cited by the Los Angeles Times, the women, who police later identified the suspect as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, fired “approximately 10 shots” toward the residence before driving away in a white Tesla. Fox LA added that witness told police that it was a “nonstop barrage of bullets, with some rounds hitting the front gate and reportedly the entrance to the home behind the gate.”

” It was scary, but you know, I can’t imagine being in the house because you’re hearing the bullets hitting and that sort of stuff. I have no idea what it could have been, although I know it was just jarring, very jarring in the middle of a nice Sunday afternoon,” one neighbor told FOX LA.

Ortiz was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and was set at $10,225,000.

“When they pulled the suspect over and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and located an assault rifle and seven casings,” Armen Arias, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department, said.

TMZ further reported that it’s “unclear what prompted the incident,” and Rihanna and her children were home at the time of the shooting.

However, in a new report from the New York Post, Ortiz posted a few videos in which she claimed Rihanna stole from her and was “jealous” of her. She also called the singer a “witch” with a “devil’s face.”

A source who spoke with the outlet detailed how Rihanna is “taking extra safety precautions after the attack,” having “rescheduled one photo shoot due to the shooting.”
