Gary Mounfield, who was the bassist for rock bands the Stone Roses and Primal Scream, has tragically passed away at the age of 63.

The news was announced by his brother in a post on Facebook.

Mounfield joined the Stone Roses in 1987 and remained with the band until they broke up in 1996. He then joined Primal Scream and was a member until 2011.

He is survived by his twin sons. His wife, Imelda Mounfield, passed away from cancer two years before the rocker’s passing.
