New $100K Reward Announced for Information in Missing Nancy Guthrie Case

February has brought heartbreak and uncertainty for Savannah Guthrie and her family as they wait for answers in the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

Now, amid growing concern and national attention, a new $100,000 reward has been put forward for information that could bring clarity to the case. For the family, every new development carries the same hope: that someone, somewhere, will come forward.

A New $100K Reward Announced as Search for Nancy Guthrie Enters Third Week

A new $100,000 reward has been announced as the search for missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie enters its third week.

As per CBS58, the latest offer comes from Milwaukee attorney Michael Hupy, president of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers. He is pledging $100,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. The additional reward strengthens ongoing efforts by federal and local authorities as they continue to follow up on leads.

The FBI is separately offering its own $100,000 reward for information that results in locating Nancy or identifying anyone responsible for her disappearance.

Nancy was last seen on January 31. Anyone with information is urged to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov.

Current Status of Investigation: FBI Investigating DNA, Surveillance Video, and Key Evidence

Investigators have released doorbell camera footage showing a masked individual outside Nancy’s home the morning she vanished. Authorities believe the person is a man between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Officials confirmed that the individual was carrying a backpack sold exclusively at Walmart. He also wore gloves and a mask.

Gloves matching those seen in the footage were recovered about two miles from Nancy’s home.

Authorities say DNA from an unknown male was found on those gloves. That DNA is being submitted to a national database in hopes of finding a match.

Additional DNA that does not belong to Nancy or anyone close to her was also discovered inside the home. Investigators are still working to determine who it belongs to.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said between 40,000 and 50,000 leads have been submitted to his department and the FBI.

Sheriff Clears Guthrie Family and Pushes Back on Speculation

As public attention intensifies, Nanos has drawn a firm line. Members of the Guthrie family are not suspects.

In a formal statement, he said the family has been “nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case.”

“To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, but it is also cruel,” Nanos continued. “The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple.”

Speaking with NBC News, Nanos explained why he felt compelled to address the speculation directly.

“Because sometimes we forget we’re human and we hurt, and kindness matters. It is every cop’s duty to stand up and be that voice for our victims. I’m not going to sit in silence when others are attacking the innocent. Isn’t that what the badge represents?”

Authorities have also pushed back on claims that Nancy’s disappearance was a burglary gone wrong, stating that the theory is false.
