New ‘Suspicious’ Video Emerges in Nancy Guthrie Case as Authorities Review Lead: REPORT

The search for “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, has now stretched into its 13th day. As investigators continue working to identify a suspect, a new development has added urgency to the case.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen the night of January 31 after being dropped off at her home following time with family. She was reported missing around noon on February 1 when she failed to log on for a scheduled virtual church service with a friend, raising immediate concern among loved ones. Investigators later confirmed that she was taken against her will.

In a press conference, the authorities noted that she relies on several medications, raising urgent concerns about her health and safety. Authorities are reviewing newly surfaced video evidence that could offer a potential lead.

Cops Dig Deeper Into Newly Surfaced Suspect Video: Man With Goatee Seen Near Doorbell Camera at 5 A.M.

TMZ released a new video as a potential lead in the search for Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers, and authorities are giving it close attention. The footage was originally posted on January 23 on Ring’s Neighbors app. It shows a man with facial hair approaching a home in Tucson, roughly 6.5 miles from where Guthrie lives.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say investigators are “absolutely” reviewing the clip as a potential lead.

In the video, a dark-haired man is seen backing toward a front door at 5 a.m., seemingly trying to avoid being seen clearly. Even so, the doorbell camera captures a partial view of him as he rings the bell.

The homeowner who shared the footage said the man ran off once the dogs inside the house began barking.

Officials have not confirmed any direct link between the individual in the video and Guthrie’s disappearance. However, sources told TMZ that both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of the footage and are examining it as part of the broader investigation.

Facial Hair Similar to Person in FBI-Released Images

Authorities had earlier released doorbell images captured at Guthrie’s home. In those stills, a person can be seen wearing what appears to be a knitted ski mask.

Despite the face covering, facial hair resembling a goatee or short beard is visible beneath the material.

That detail has fueled conversation online, with residents circulating the newly surfaced Ring clip across social media platforms.

Authorities on Thursday released the first physical description of a male suspect believed to be connected to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. The individual was captured on the front porch camera at her Tucson, Arizona, home on the night investigators believe she was abducted.

According to the FBI, the suspect has an average build and stands approximately 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10. In the Nest doorbell footage recorded at Guthrie’s home, he is seen wearing a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.

The FBI shared images of a similar backpack to help the public identify it.

Officials said the newly released details stem from a forensic analysis of the doorbell camera footage, as investigators continue to work to identify the man and track his movements.

Investigators have urged anyone living within a two-mile radius of Guthrie’s home to check their security cameras for suspicious activity throughout the month of January.

This is a developing story.
