Popular Daytime Talk Show to End After 4 Seasons

Actress and comedian Sherri Shepherd began hosting her daytime talk show, “Sherri,” in 2022 as a replacement for the iconic “Wendy Williams Show.” The production company behind the series has now announced its cancellation. This comes the same day it was announced that rival “The Kelly Clarkson Show” would end.

According to Variety, Debmar-Mercury confirmed it would end production of the series after the 2025-2026 season.

They said in a statement, “This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production – which has found strong creative momentum this season – or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd.”

The statement continued, “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.”

“Sherri” is currently in its 4th season. The final episodes of the show will air in the fall.

Per Variety, Demar-Mercury announced in March 2025 that it would be renewing “Sherri” for its fourth season. The renewal saw the show return to station groups including Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna, and Sunbeam.

Frank Cicha, executive vice president of programming for Fox stations, called the show “a linchpin of our daytime lineup.” As of February 2025, the show ranked second among syndicated talk shows. This marked a 33% increase from November 2024.

Shepherd said in a statement at the time, “I don’t take it for granted that people welcome me into their homes daily. I work so hard to bring escapism to viewers’ lives through joy, laughter, and inspiration, and I’m grateful that the audience has embraced what we do. I look forward to raising the bar and turning up the volume as we plan for our season four return.”

She’s Currently On Tour

“Sherri” may be coming to an end, but Shepherd has quite a bit to look forward to in her career. Recently, she announced a comedy tour. She began the “Make It Make Sense” tour in mid-January with a stop in South Carolina.

Currently, Shepherd has dates scheduled through May 2026, with the final stop in Atlanta, Georgia. She announced the tour on Instagram, writing, “It’s happening! Tickets are now on sale for my Make It Make Sense Comedy Tour. What city will I see you in? Get your tickets now through the link in my bio.

Shepherd also remains active as an actress. Per IMDb, her most recent scripted role was in Tyler Perry’s 2025 Netflix film “Straw.” Previously, she appeared in two episodes of the Amazon Prime series “Harlem.”
